The host was very welcoming & polite.

The location, the lights going on and off .

The apartment is on the ground floor where you enter a patio with access to a bedroom, a bathroom and a kitchen. There an internal staircase leads to the floor with two beds and a sofa. Fresh air hardly enters the apartment because on the ground floor there are two small windows in the ceiling of the atrium which for such a large apartment are disproportionate for access to fresh air. On the first floor, the two windows face the ceiling of the atrium where, due to the three external units of the air conditioners, dirty hot air enters. A big problem in the apartment is the electricity, because every day after 20.30 there were fluctuations in voltage, as a result of which the brightness is reduced to a minimum to the point that you need to have the lens of your cell phone open all night in order to have light and see. There is related video that proves the dips of the electric current. Also noises can be heard throughout the house from the old beams in the ceiling making the apartment even more scary. At the same time, bugs and ants appeared from the floor of the atrium, where as soon as you chased them, they hid under the floor, which needs immediate maintenance. The appearance of insects did not allow us to use the kitchen for cooking. The walls also need maintenance since there is moisture, resulting in the plaster of the walls falling to the floor. Finally, the place where the apartment is located is a 15-minute walk from Ortygia, but the neighborhood is dirty, with strange people and makes you feel completely insecure both for your personal integrity and for your car. Also in the mattresses on all the beds there was something and when we were lying down something stung us slightly and it was extremely annoying. Unfortunately, none of the above are listed in the booking by the owner. If these were listed we certainly would never have made this reservation.

The owner was very friendly! He couldn't speak english (which is very usual in Italy) but we communicated through translate app. The apartment was clean and the beds were comfortable.

The apartment had two doors, but the one outside couldn't be locked from the inside

Host arrived very quickly when we called.

However, property was not easy to locate from the address given.

Location is walking distance from the old city. Quiet neighbourhood. Very easy contact with the friendly host. Original decoration inside the property and plants on the outside. Very close to the church of Saint Lucia with the Caravaggio above the altar. Local bakery close by with incredible almond cookies, crunchy on the outside, chewy in the middle, and very good local pizzolo with spinach and potato.

The fifth bed is a 1,60 bed made from a couch with harder and a softer side with a separation in the middle. Too small for a good night for our 13 year old, probably fine for up to 10 years old. We had bad luck with a troubled neighbour who shouted, moaned and argued loudly till three in the morning both nights: we could follow his every word through the wall.

It was attractive and felt spacious, with two dining areas. Street parking was good, which is hard to come by in Ortigia, so we could leave the car and walk- about 15 minutes.

Google Maps led us to an empty corner; the actual property was further down the street. Better instructions to find the property would be helpful.
