Eagle River Lodge

My reservation was for "1 King Bed, Mountain View". When we arrived, we found that we had been assigned a basement room, 3-4 feet below the street level, with a view of lower parts of parked cars. I talked to the reception agent about this. And showed her the reservation. She was not able to help or make a change. The person I called at Expedia customer service also called them for me (I really appreciated this). The property owner refused to make any changes and refused to refund any part of the costs. The reservation was for 6 days. I would have been happy to pay for the first night's costs and cancel. Or even a partial refund. Or a change of room. None of these were possible. In the end, we left and made a reservation in another hotel in Anchorage for the same period.

The best lodge since we arrived in Alaska! Fresh, clean, air conditioned and a great king bed!!!

Could hear every step of the people above us. Room was fine otherwise.

We enjoyed our time at this establishment. The check in was smooth and the person who checked in was charming. The Lodge is close enough to Anchorage and other sites. It is located across from a school and neighborhood.

Great stay!

Hotel is wonderful and staff was very friendly. Will definitely book again when I get back to Alaska!

Quick trip up for Costco run. Room was spacious and bed comfortable. The bathroom was clean and so easy in and out of shower. Only drawback is all the rooms you have to use steps or staircases. No ramp for wheelchairs. Staff were very accommodating and were happy to help us carry our bags up (they asked if we needed help) but we were good. Stayed on top floor- had an AC - room was very comfortable for us Alaskans and we didn’t really need it. Large and spacious room and nice amenities (micro, fridge, individual and nice shower and soap - not the dispenser kind) that exceeded our expectations. Would stay here again. And again.
