LISA'S GUESTHOUSE

The location was central to the shops and dive spot we booked the accomodation for. It is a good location if you want to see the sardine run. The room was private and we had our own bathroom, supplied with towels, shower gel and shampoo. We met Lisa and her son, they were happy to help when needed. Ideal location for party goers.

However, the location was on the main road with bars, we did not get much sleep as the noise was so loud. The air con and doors had loads of gaps in the wall which made noise easier to travel into the room. We also believe this is why we had cockroaches everyday. The cooking area upstairs was really unclean, the pans were dirty, old mouldy food and ants everywhere! It really needed a refurb with new appliances. When booking this hotel, we were not aware this this was a hostel Intended for Jewish people. We have travelled the world and stayed in hostels of all faiths and welcome the cultural differences. We were, however, very alarmed to see how 'in your face' this one was. We checked the page on booking.com, and it did not show any of these over the top graffiti walls. Unless you can read the small line of Hebrew writing on the logo (which of course we do not) it was an easy mistake to make at the time of booking and feel like this should be made clearer. It made us feel really uncomfortable with the shrines to Israel and Judaism plastered all over the walls. When approached by one of the guests, she spoke to us in hebrew and then asked why we were staying in that hostel if we weren't Jewish. This hostel is ideal for the Jewish community, others may feel a little uncomfortable.

stuff happens, the water line broke for a day. had to track down staff even though 24/7. i was told about the street noise, it is loud and all night. no desk or tv, but priced accordingly.

Could do with some renovation, but comfortable. In a noisy, central location.
