Hotel La Casona

Positive energy. Natural setting. Central location.

It was clean. Water pressure was weak in the showers. Always had to ask for extra toilet paper and towels. No hot water at all for the first two days of our stay

I stayed at La Casona out of convenience though I would normally stay at a higher end property. La Casona is clean and affordable but the noise from slamming doors and other guests is very distracting at all hours. There was no detectable hot water and cigar and cigarette smoke drifted into my room from the exterior smoking areas. Also they advertise a pool but that pool is at another property 8 blocks away. Overall La Casona is not a bad property, it just isn't my preference.

The decor. The staff was very helpful and nice. Rooms clean

If hearing people from all directions at all times of the night spitting, using the bathroom, flushing with water gushing through your walls, dragging chairs around and generally talking loudly outside your room, and a nightclub directly next door with pouring music all night long, this is the place for you. The staff are great and the place is super clean and very well decorated. The rooms are good for a solo person but would be cramped with any more and no bathroom door. The room has a musty kind of smell too which was fine after that initial sniff. Plenty of local people stay here with foreigners mostly on weekends. Location is central and an easy walk to most places or you could take advantage of the Moto taxis directly outside who are waiting to take advantage of you. Overall the noise and the sound of humans all around is the reason for my low stars. If I wanted to sleep in a hostel with a shower curtain separating me I would have. This place is really beautiful though and I feel very safe here. If only they had some insulation in the walls......

Horrible! From a front door that didn't lock to a toilet that was clogged and everything in between, this hotel was truly uncomfortable!

Good location and pleasant staff. I would stay at this hotel again.

The parrots in the courtyard were a nice touch, and the held our bags while we went on an excursion!

Better room than last. Everything was good. Interesting place, with a variety of rooms. No glass in one widow, only screen, but it was okay and nothing was stolen. I was s bit. Oncerned with security. The cupboards could use a lock or the ability to place a lock on them.
