Hotel La Casona

There were cockroaches in one room, and then tiny ants in the next room, in the washroom. Poor windows. Expedia said there was AC, but the hotel said my room wasn’t an AC room. They did upgrade me when I showed them the Expedia site and booking reference. Adequate, would have been better if there weren’t the bugs.

Service is to the point. Clean. Option to purchase breakfast. Reasonably priced. Nice lounge areas. Overall, great staff. Emailed them for reservations and they were prompt. They made it easy. Don't expect room service type stuff. If you need something like a towel, ask but be persistent. I give them a five because even after we came back from our journey to the Amazon, a few friends were staying there so we had our things in their room while we waited to go to the airport. We asked the front desk if we could schedule a taxi ride to the airport, one of the employees resisted but the other person scheduled it with no problem. This was the extra touch that made the holistic approach to our experience here. I would go back. Our retreat center, Gaia Tree, recommended them. Thank you La Casona!

This is a great place to stop and chat to any fellow Ayahuasca pilots to discuss post or pre journeying. The hotel has a very basic breakfast with papaya and bread rolls for 8.00 Soles. The plus side is it is central and round the corner from the square plus the workers are diligently working round the clock to keep it neat and tidy. Therefore, if you are looking for a clean and hygienic place to stay, then this place is the best to be at.

Senora Fabiola is wonderful and will help you out if you need some help, she is an awesome woman! One of the few places you can sit down and enjoy a smoke! Free tea, coffee and water! Best price! If you need an affordable hotel in a great location look no further, hotel Casona is the place to stay. Any time I’m in Iquitos I will stay here. The vibe is nice as are all the staff. I recommend this hotel with two thumbs up! Keep an eye out for the albino gecko in the patio at night time!

I rated based on where I was. Room was super small but what I needed. I stayed here 2 diffferent times. It’s clean and safe. Bed was big enough to fit a 6 ft man and it was comfy. Shower was good and with hot water. Room was safe enough. Only complaint is the noise. Everything can be heard in the hotel including other guests and the clubs from the street that jam until about 4 am. Fan in room is appreciated and much needed. VISITOR SUGGESTION. Take a video of you paying for the room or demand some sort of receipt. It all worked out, but I paid cash checking in and when trying to check out, they had no record of it.

Although it is not the most comfortable place to stay, the customer service is excellent. Super friendly people at the front, and the driver that picked us up was very nice and told us all about the city on the way to the hotel.

A very nice and clean hotel, very friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. If you want a good quality stay very close to the center of Iquitos, this is a very good place, and the price is really worth what you get.

If you are looking for a really nice hostel, then this is your place. It has all of the elements of the hostel it used to be - shared kitchen, refrigerator, coffee station, communal sitting areas but somewhere along the way they started calling themselves a hotel. Some of the hotel features might be that you don’t share your room except with who you come with, but otherwise this is a hostel is every sense of the word. Fun, funky vibe. Nice staff but then Peruvians are awesome people anyway and they offer a little breakfast for 7 solas (about $2.25 in USD) which includes a bowl of fruit, juice, coffee, bread, butter and jam. You can choose between an air conditioned room or non depending on your preference and/or budget and there are rooms that offer three beds as well.

We were there for three days and we were so thankful for the modern amenities. We were a bit confused about how to get food from the kitchen but restaurants are everywhere. It's location is perfect, close to shops the river and food. Just don't get the center room because you hear everyone outside.

This hotel is located just off Plaza de Armas, the most tourist friendly area that we found in Iquitos. The staff is super friendly, speak english and the rooms are nicer and feel safer than some others we've stayed in around the area. They have a cool courtyard area and really good WiFi throughout the grounds and different floors.
