Hostal Tree House

When I arrived at Ella train station from Kandy, it was late and raining. When I called, they immediately came to pick me up and took me to the hostel in their own car. It’s a family-run business, and they were very warm and sincere. The room was fine for the price. If it were the high season and the weather was warm, the room would actually be an advantage, but since it's currently monsoon season, the place was quite basic. I stayed for one night because I wanted a warmer room. I think the wife prepares the breakfast, and it was very delicious. The bed was a bit firm, but it was manageable. It’s impossible to leave a bad review. Thank you!

The location was amazing, right next to the high street. It was also super quick and easy to get to the train station with all our stuff. The owner was also super nice and offered to take us up to Little Adam’s peak in his Tuktuk at 5am! The beds where also super confortable and had mosquito nets. The chilling area in the top floor also has a really nice view to eat your breakfast with and hammocks to chill on as well as sofas

It can be a bit noisy but with ear plugs I slept fine and my friend slept fine without them. The bathroom and shower is also shared with everyone but the place is small enough for this not to be a problem

Really nice place, surrounded by nature and you can see the train passing by and monkeys in the trees. The owner is really kind and serves a very good breakfast. The location is perfect, so close to the centre and the railway. We loved it there!

The shared bathroom is very basic, but it’s clean and there’s hot water. You can hear the train early in the morning and it’s pretty loud.

Plenty of plants on a nice communal balcony, with a little cafe upstairs ( only seemed to be staffed during breakfast and dinner, but no issue with that 😊). Breakfast was included. Staff are very kind and friendly, though sometimes hard to locate

The listing advertised "swimming pool & spa" which it does not have. There is only one toilet ( broken doorknob. Both I and someone else got temporarily trapped in there for a couple moments), and two showers to share among all guests.

Without doubt the best accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. The owner and staff are amazing and super kind. Felt like home from the first second. The owner also has his own tuk tuk for a great price. The food, especially the included breakfast is great and a really big portion. Also try the different Mojitos with fresh fruits! The vibe in general and the people that stay there are super chill. Big, big recommendation also for the ayurvedic massage from the Herbal Therapist Nipun. Here you can get the real Ayurveda experience for a fair price and his knowledge of the holistic body concept is mesmerizing. & If you want to get a tattoo: Talk to the tattoo artist Kevin, who has his own studio in the hostel, he does a great job!

First of all, the staff are the kindest people you can see. They always care about cleanliness, they care about your requests, they are always smiling. The breakfast was both delicious and large in portion. Also, the view of the hostel is very nice and it’s just 2min by walk to the center. I DEFINITELY recommend this place.

It was sooo much better than expected! It's really like a tree house with 3 levels and many places to chill. The 4 dorm was comfortable and the shower is simple but great water pressure with hot water too. Amazing value for money because only the breakfast it self is already worth the money. The couple is super sweet. He even woke up at 04:30 to make us breakfast and walked with us to the bus station. I was travelling solo and met some nice people! Would recommend.

Please consider it's next to the railway and some bars but I still had the best night sleep so far so it was not a problem to me.
