Pet Friendly Cottage Ashbourne with Parking

Well equipped kitchen area with induction hob, large fridge freezer, microwave dishwasher, washing machine. Tastefully decorated and comfortable. Good size TV. Upstairs accommodation spacious. Bit cramped downstairs for 4 people.

Outside bins were overflowing. Kitchen bin not clean. Bath dusty needed cleaning before it could be used. A family sized cooking pot would have been useful.

Excellent location for visiting Alton Towers and the Peak District. Pet friendly which was superb.

Unfortunately this beautiful cottage is situated on a very busy main road. Some of our party struggled to sleep with the traffic noise.

Having the Tissington trail only 5 minutes walk away was a bonus, house fairly spacious especially upstairs. Sofa and bed very comfortable with clean bed linen and towels. Shower pressure fantastic. The property has an allotted car parking space which is very handy but is not that easy to get out off when other cars are parked there. The owner Jo very helpful and prompt to reply. There is a supermarket just around the corner for supplies and a very handy fish and chip shop, pizza place and Indian restaurant/takeaway, all with very tasty and reasonably priced food.

The house is only about six foot from the main road from Ashbourne to Derby, it is extremely busy for all but two or three hours in the early morning. There are traffic lights immediately outside the property which adds to the constant noise, also when the vechicles are going up the hill they are having to constantly rev' their engines including the articulated lorries. There is also another busy road close to the back of the property (the house is situated just around a corner). Crossing the roads is very dangerous, you have to be quick. We didn't get much sleep unfortunately. Minor detail, a clothes horse would be handy to help dry some clothes ( no outside space for washing line as back yard only about eight foot wide and very narrow with bins and garden bench in) though there is a washer dryer in the house. Found a used plaster stuck on the recliner sofa and plenty of crumbs under the chopping board, toaster and edges of work surface.

Great location for exploring Ashbourne and as a base for Peak District walking. Parking space very useful plus road parking nearby. Air conditioning came in handy

The only downside is the traffic noise outside cottage but made up for being in a great location

We had a fabulous weekend in this lovely house. Very well equipped, spotlessly clean, great location for Ashbourne (easily walkable and supermarket close) and easy to get into the Peak District for great walking in the White Peak particularly. We very much enjoyed out stay thank you

Nothing ... the house is on a busy-ish road but it didn't feel very noisy and we had no problem getting out.
