Stairs to rooms if you have mobility issues

Excellent breakfast that fueled me through long walks, lovely decor, Anita, Ryan and Lynda were very helpful and accommodating even as my schedule changed.

I can say so many amazing things about Fort Charlotte Guest House so I will try and stick to the main points. It is in an incredibly ideal location, just off Commercial Street in Lerwick, making it incredibly convenient if you plan to stay outdoors after the buses stop and you don’t drive, it’s within walking distance of all of Lerwick. The room was incredibly clean and comfortable, sometimes staying in a single room can feel a little confined but that is not how this room felt. The windows also offered incredibly good sound proofing off the street below, I couldn’t hear anything unless I opened them. I would say this property’s highlight is the owners and staff. Everyone who I met whilst staying here was so incredibly lovely and welcoming, it really made my stay in Lerwick 10X better. Especially on my day of departure when the ferry was going to be delayed, the staff offered me to sit in the dining room after check in to sort out my travel, even offering very helpful advice on what they thought was best. The staff turned that situation from a very stressful one, into a very very easy and calm one. Overall I would rate Fort Charlotte Guest House a perfect 10/10, if I could give it 11/10 I would!

At the beginning of my stay there was a tiny issue with the wifi, however this was resolved incredibly quickly, so I cannot complain.

Breakfast was great, very friendly staff and helpful, beautiful rooms especially room 3! Location is great, very central with nearby parking.
