Fort Charlotte Guest House

Location was excellent. Close to Lerwick Harbour. Could walk easily to attractions within the town precinct and free parking very close. Good, hearty breakfast and our host, Ryan, was super friendly and helpful. There’s a nice family feel about the place. Highly recommend.

It wasn’t a problem for us … yet! … but we were up two flights of stairs and the staircase is rather steep. However, we had a great view of the cobbled street below so enjoyed our vantage point.

Location perfect - in the centre of Lerwick.

The property was right in Commercial Road Lerwick. The Host Ryan and his beautiful wife are warm and welcoming. The property is full of character, clean and tidy and the fully cooked breakfast is to die for! Highly recommend and I will be going back!!

We had a wonderful stay here. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and we were made most welcome. Ryan’s initial emails were extremely useful There were some lovely special touches, like fresh milk and water in the room fridge daily, a personal message on arrival and a birthday card. The room was spacious, warm and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended and will definitely return.

Nothing at all!

Communications were easy and friendly. It seemed a little tricky to not understand the parking situation but it turned out just fine to park on the street very close. The room layout and space was so Welcoming . . . we could spread out a bit, and the beds/bedding were heavenly. The owners are caring, fun, and so hospitable. They were so accommodating for gluten-free and provided some really nice options, perfectly cooked to order and served in a light and lovely breakfast room. The Fort Charlotte Guest House may be the very best place to stay on all of Shetland.

Just bring less stuff, for carting up stairs. ;-)

The location was great. The room was comfortable and the bed was superb. Our hosts were delightful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent and there was plenty of choices on the menu. We really enjoyed talking to the owner, Ryan and the other guests at breakfast.

Our only negative was that the wifi was not great. It kept dropping out or indeed, would not allow us to log in.

The location was great Rayan and his staff were very hospitable they kindley did some laundry for us which was a great help I would highly recommend a stay here xxx
