Harcombe Barn near Bristol

Everything excellent quality,beautiful views and quiet ..Great location and nice village with some good places to eat.Host very accommodating and friendly .lovely outside space to sit round the pool or barbecue.All in all an impressive place to stay.We will definately stay again.

Good location, very spacious, plenty of storage.

Small double beds - not sure why the beds are so small when there is easily enough space to accommodate standard double beds, or even king sized beds. It’s okay if you’re sleeping on your own, but a couple would find them cramped. Lack of privacy - as shown in the photographs, the owners house looks directly into the barn conversion, and there are no blinds/curtains on some of the windows, meaning the owners can look right through some of the windows (especially at night time when the lights are on - they’re able to see you walking along the hallway and sitting in the living room - this made us feel uncomfortable). No upkeep of coffee machine - it was unusable as it needed descaling, and no descaling tablets were provided in the accommodation (we had to ask for them). No instructions provided on how to descale the coffee machine (we had to Google them - and then found that 2 tablets were required, and the owner only provided us with 1). Rude owners - on the second evening of our stay we had been out for dinner with family (who we had come down to visit), and they had picked us up and dropped us back off at the accommodation. They came inside to have a cup of tea before going. We were seated in the living room when we heard extremely loud banging on the front door, which startled me and made me jump. My brother answered the front door and I could hear the male owner shouting his mouth off, going absolutely ballistic because my sister-in-law had parked her car with the offside wheels slightly on the grass. My brother apologised and calmly explained that she had done this out of courtesy to leave enough room for the owners car to get past, as the driveway was tight. The male owner shouted that she should’ve parked on the road instead if there wasn’t enough room. In hindsight, yes, perhaps she should’ve done that - it was a small mistake on her part - to which my brother profusely apologised.

The property is quintessential English countryside, with an absolutely stellar view. The barn is a beautiful conversion and the furnishings are lovely with all the mod cons.

The bathroom was lovely and spacious with a beautiful tub and a rainfall shower that looked great.....but couldn't be used due to plumbing problems. The owner was extremely apologetic but I was traveling with my 90 year old mother who couldn't use the tub. We were there for 6 nights and had no use of the shower the entire time.

Beautiful house, all the mod cons and well thought out. Would be fantastic in the middle of the summer when the suns hot

Not really a criticism but hot water ran out 🤦 so only one of us had a hot shower before we left

Beautiful spacious barn with everything you need for a family holiday. We loved the conservatory looking our over the pool. The host was welcoming and lovely.

We had a wonderful stay! The barn was very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The white bed linen and towels were especially lovely — a really nice touch.

One thing to note: the bathroom is located within one of the bedrooms, so the setup may be best suited to close family or those comfortable sharing.

It was a lovely property - clean and comfortable and beautiful. There was much more space than I imagined - and the views to wake up to were amazing. Well equipped with everything we needed and a short journey to the local shop to get essentials .
