Methven Retreat

Very comfortable beds and a quiet surrounding made it possible to get a really good night's sleep. The room was spacious and well equipped. It had everything we needed to prepare a proper breakfast.

Overall it was fine, although the cleanliness could have been improved a little.

This was a very last minute booking and we were accommodated for so well. The place is so clean and had everything we needed. Thank you so much for a great stay and being so communicative. Would definitely book again!

Good location, quiet, nice selection of coffees, loads of pillows, the price was right

Contrary to the description of this property, it is not actually a tiny house but a converted room attached to their garage. The listing also specifies a separate bedroom, however it is all one small room with 2 sets of bunk beds. The “living room” consists of a tiny 2 seater sofa. The property is fine however it does not match the description. It was very crowded with two people, so I can’t imagine if every bed was filled. There is an outdoor space with some chairs, but it was basically unuseable because they were very dirty and broken.

Honestly not alot, is had all the basic things you needed and location was good.

Overall a very disappointing stay, We booked for 2 nights and left after 1. We got there late at night so didnt have much of a chance to look around until the next morning. Shortly after we woke up the people staying in the front house had left and the cleaner and another male came to clean the house. All we could hear was banging and what sounded like metal falling in the floor, we found out the male was in the garage (in which the room is attached to) making alot of noise and it all feed back into our room and was very disrupting. This went on for over 3 hours well and truly after the cleaners had left and there was no apology or explanation. He also as we were leaving walked around the front of our room able to see in taking away all sense of privacy we did have. We discovered that most of the dish wear was dirty, the coffee mugs looked to have had a drink made in them, dried up and put back in the cupboard with no cleaning. The freezer that was in the bar fridge was completely iced over and I had to physically scrape it out for over 30 minutes just to get enough room to put 3 items in there. By the next morning it was iced over again as it wouldn't close properly because of the ice. We learnt the information if different for each site this accommodation is listed on, and there was a piece of paper with information inside the room. It said there was cereal and a small bottle of milk for us to use, of course there was neither. Another example is on Airbnb it states there's a BBQ you can use in the front houses yard, on booking.com it just mentions there's a BBQ but no further information, and on the paper inside it doesn't mention it at all. The description on airbnb makes it sound like it is very fancy, saying along the lines of "separate bedroom" when infact its just one small room with a bathroom off to the side. It seems they care more about the guests they get from airbnb then anywhere else.

Great place to stay very clean, comfortable beds. Easy walk into the shops/bars
