NZBreakfast was great.
NZVery clean, lovely house, perfect for a family.
AUMethven Retreat Tiny House is indeed tiny :). It's a small accommodation built next to the garage on the owner's property. There are 2 x bunk beds, a small kitchen and a reasonable bathroom. However, the owner provided a wide range of instant coffee, tea, jam and honey, what was lovely. The place was very clean and quiet. We did not expect the place to be so tiny, but it was okay for our one night stay. Thank you
The unit is so tiny that we could only open one suitcase and then had to step over it when walking from the bunk beds to the kitchen & bathroom.
NZVery homely and spacious, well appointed and equipped, relatively easy check in, space for cars and large enough for our two young kids which was ideal for us. Pretty reasonable cost wise as well which was great. Has a nice backyard area and a nice deck, it was a very warm and welcoming place to stay in.
I think it’s a bit ‘have your cake and eat it too’ to say that you could come and stay at any random time (which we didn’t realise until we arrived, wouldn’t have booked if we knew earlier) which would completely change the holiday and to be frank we wouldn’t stay in that case. Our kids get up before 6 and make a heap of noise so we’re not going to be in a house with strangers. I’m sure you’re a nice person but please- just block it out and don’t take bookings if you want to use it. Also it felt a bit like I was invading someone’s space with pictures of their kids around, their washing in the washing machine their food in the fridge and their shoes on the rack. That made us a bit uncomfortable and we left early.
RUEverything is thoughtfully designed down to the smallest details. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back.

TW1. This accommodation feels more like a homestay, with rooms in the host’s house available for guests when the host is away. We didn’t meet the host in person but picked up the key from a key box. The host kindly allowed us to use the spacious kitchen, dining area, and living room, and even to light the fireplace for heating. It was our first time using matches to start a fire — such a fun and unique cultural experience! 2. The room was warm and the bathroom was clean. A small piece of candy was placed on the bed when we checked in — such a lovely and heartwarming touch. 3. The breakfast offered plenty of choices and generous portions.
1. The entrance wasn't very easy to find — you need to drive into the backyard and enter the house through the back door. It took us a while to locate the right entrance and the key box. 2. We couldn’t find the switch for the heating system in the living and dining areas, so we could only rely on the fireplace for warmth. Even so, it still felt a bit chilly while eating in the dining area, so we didn’t stay there or in the living room for long.
