Where do I start….. Misadvertised as parking available when it’s on street parking in a resedential area with no spaces available on surrounding streets We were in room 5. Bathroom does not have a proper door, has a sliding door that does not provide privacy when using the bathroom. Main point was the horrendous sleep we endured as the people in the room directly above were walking around their room for the majority of the night and the noise from the floorboards was ridiculous. Tried to address it with the owners the following day and my queries were literally brushed under the carpet (oh, carpet, you need carpets on the floor to stop the sound of creaking floorboards !!!!)

The cleanliness, space, and lighting.

I told the hotel I was arriving between 9 and 10pm, and I did, but couldn’t gain access into the building. I kept pressing the buzzer, but no one responded. I was outside for over 5 minutes waiting to be let in. Finally, someone came out of the building. It was one other customer like me. When I gained access, I noticed there was no reception, just a little table kept in a corner. A man came down from upstairs and said his wife had been trying to reach me. I was confused. I first explained that I was locked out. He said they close 8 pm, which made me more confused because it was meant to be a hotel, no closing time. When I insisted that I was locked out and that I stipulated my arrival time, which I kept to, he was aggressive. With a loud tone, he said, "Don't bring that attitude here!" My response was, "WOW!" I never expected that comment. He said his wife left a note for me on the table. I was wondering how I go into a hotel and checking their tables if someone I don't know left a note for me. And I couldn't even gain access, so how would I even see the note? Facility was fine; clean and tidy. The problem was that every movement upstairs was practically heard downstairs, where I occupied. Secondly, tea bags, milk, and sugars were provided, but there was no water to make the tea, and no one to ask. There was no intercom in the room. Maybe I was supposed to use water from the toilet. I left the same way I came, when it was morning, because there was no one to hand the key over to. I dropped the key on the little table before joining the cab. The facility itself is very good (very clean) for its standard, but its ghosts with horrible attitudes that are running it. Mind you; the towel is the size of a large napkin. Go with your toothpaste, because there's none. My overall customer experience was bad, and I'll never use that hotel again.

Very good value for money for the room and location. Clean throughout and very modern with everything you need for a night away, the bathroom in particular was really nicely done and the bed was big for a single. Perfect for a solo traveller wanting to explore Chester.

Only downside was that the hotel was quite nosy throughout the night with people coming and going and didn't seem to be much sound proofing. Very much to be expected for a Saturday night and didn't disrupt too much but just a word of warning in case you're a light sleeper or travelling with a small child.

The hosts were really friendly and very welcoming. Everything was extremely clean and well looked after, only downside was the bed wasn't a double as we asked for....2 single beds pushed together which was a nightmare as they kept parting all night! Apart from that everything else was spot on including the shower, bathroom etc. Will return on the basis of a proper double bed! Thank you for being hospitable too 😊
