First night - flooded yurt, water in all electrics, electric heater full of water as was the extension lead. Soaking wet beds, rain coming in through holes. Owner said electrics were fine. Second night- yurt apparently clean and dry, another couple were in there. Went to pod, door wide open, wouldn’t zip up, all wet inside. Went to other pod, wet floor, big puddle soaked up by rug. Then after speaking to couple in the yurt that was booked for me they said they were going as the place was a dump, holes in roof, everything wet, disgusting and dangerous. I stayed in pod but worried someone would turn up as bookings are all over the place. No heater in this pod, luckily I brought my own sleeping bag and I sleep in all of my clothes, plus scarf and hat. Extremely poor organisation, whole thing was a nightmare. Nothing as advertised, not fit for anyone to stay in, no fire pit, kettle that was bought to yurt was disgusting and not usable. Broken chairs outside, everything dangerously unsafe. Raised concerns with owner, he turns nasty. Couldn’t risk turning up to pod or yurt to find others their and would have no where to sleep so had to book a hotel and cut short my stay. Worst experience ever.

The yurt was a good size. The fridge was clean. the lights worked.

It’s very run down, not well maintained. It leaks (a lot), there was a mouldy basket in the yurt, the toilet was blocked, a lot of guests on site were smoking cannabis, it seems to be more used as dogs for tradespeople / builders rather than holiday makers, there isn’t an indoor communal area, the map isn’t great, the children’s play area / climbing frame has thistles and stinging nettles growing around and under it. the pictures showed an electric kettle, there weren’t any added touches like hot water bottles or extra blankets. The guide book smelt of stale beer, the inside fabric smelt of stale beer. After a few hours of rain everything was soaking. the bed, the linen, the pillows. the things we’d left on the table and chairs. It wasn’t a particularly heavy downpour, but it was a few hours. it’s close to the road, so anyone with dogs that doesn’t have a tether may need to secure their dog another way (not a problem for us). We received an email asking us about our visit the day before we stayed. We received communication from the owner but he bears little to no responsibility.

I loved how the property is laid out, there is loads of space between all the Yurts, this means I didn’t have to worry too much about my children talking and laughing. The view is beautiful and you can see for miles across the fields. there is a toilet and shower in a building close by and a fridge you can put milk in etc if you so wish. However what I loved the most was that it was quiet, there was fresh air a plenty and my children could be children. We slept so so well in our comfy, warm beds. My children played ping pong and ran around, there was even a climbing dome kind of thing (not sure what you call it). If you don’t mind a bit of mud, the odd bug and a breeze outside, I’d highly recommend this place and to top it all off the owners we so lovely and helpful. I’ll definitely be back.

The whole place needs a little bit of TLC, and a little attention to detail, it’s cheap to stay but little things could make it better…but on the whole it’s cheap and cheerful. Just need a place to get away
