Der Gastgeber Alessandro und sein Vater haben uns persönlich begrüßt, wir wurden auf den Parkplatz im Innenhof gelotst (unser Ford Kuga passte haargenau durch die Einfahrt, größere Autos hätten vermutlich Schwierigkeiten). Dann zeigten uns die beiden die großzügige Ferienwohnung: drei riesige Zimmer (davon ein Schlafzimmer) mit hohen stuckverzierten Decken, wunderschönen Fliesenböden, hohen Fenstern, antiken Möbeln. Über Küche und Bad befindet sich das zweite Schlafzimmer und ein kleines Bad. Der Weg hinauf führt über eine schmale Treppe. Für die eingeschränkten Möglichkeiten in einem so alten Haus sehr clever gelöst und sorgfältig eingerichtet. Es ist ein Erlebnis für eine Woche in einem sizilianischen, barocken "Palazzo" zu wohnen! Es ist alles sehr sauber und ordentlich, es gibt Verbrauchsmaterial (Geschirrspüler-Gel, Waschmittel, Küchentücher, ...) dazu Kaffee, Tee und Mineralwasser. Zur Begrüßung gab es lokalen Schnaps, Bier und Kekse - Vielen Dank! Direkt vor der Tür gibt es einen kleinen Bäcker/Mini-Markt, in ein paar Gehminuten Entfernung (am Piazza Carlo Alberto) findet jeden Tag außer Sonntag ein wunderbarer Markt mit Obst, Gemüse, Fisch, Käse & Fleisch statt! Des Weiteren gibt es reichlich Restaurants in fußläufiger Entfernung, das Zentrum der Altstadt (Dom & Fischmarkt) erreicht man zu Fuß in ~20 Minuten.

Beautiful historic home. Very comfortable and we really felt at home. Alessandro and his family were exceptionally welcoming and helpful.

We didn't want to leave. The city and this home will be cherished memories. Highly recommended.

The building was fantastic for a 200 year old building, it was in excellent condition and shape. The owner, Alessandro keeps the Sicilian tradition and culture alive.

There was nothing not to like in this property.

The interior of the building is exceptional, as it shows a bygone area of Sicilian architecture; very big apartments with high and decorated ceilings and windows with the typical balconies. It is very spacious and decorated in the same original style. The host and his family are very charming and helpful. It is about a 15 minute walk to the center, but there are also buses. We often rent accommodations in cities, but this we would classify as a rare find.

the certain accomodation is a destination itself. The people we 've met were polite and ready to help in any occassion, the house is simply marvellous. My family and I will definately return - soone or later.
