If you were looking to meet people and looking to be social, this is the hostel where you need to stay.

If you were looking for something that is modern, updated and “clean” this is not the hostel where you need to stay. It is clean, however it is very old. So clean and old can look dirty and dingy, which it is not. Just realize that when you stay here, you are truly getting the beach vibe.

Ein sehr schönes Hostel in dem man sehr einfach Leute kennen lernen kann. Jeden Tag gibt es eine kostenlose Tour und die Gemeinschaftsbereiche sind groß. Sehr liebe Volunteers die dort arbeiten (bis auf eine Ausnahme).

Wenig Geschirr, was dazu führt, dass es bei einem vollen Hostel oft keine Tassen,Teller oder Schüsseln mehr gab. Das angebotene Frühstück besteht aus einer Tüte Pancakepulver, aus welchem man sich selbst Pancakes machen kann (leider sehr geschmacklos- obwohl wir sogar versucht haben, dies mit zusätzlichen Eiern und Zimt zu ändern) Außerdem ist das Hostel leider weit vom Meer entfernt und es handelt sich nicht um die beste Gegeng (durch die angebotenen Touren kann man trotzdem sehr schöne Sachen erleben)

I loved the cats, the amenities and decor, and the rooms were cozy. The staff were pretty cool and friendly and they provide you with a comprehensive tour upon check in, which is very helpful. I enjoyed the option to use private bathrooms. If I had time, I would have joined a tour - if I remember correctly, different tours are available every day depending on the number of people who sign up. They also have coffee and pancakes every morning in the kitchen from 8-10pm, which I did not get a chance to try but I appreciate the offer. I would absolutely stay here again if I came back to Maui.

One Thursday night, there was a party in the common area - it seemed fun and I like the community vibes. However, by the time it was over, someone had gotten sick in the communal restrooms. It happens. My only complaint is that the situation was not made abundantly clear to all guests. Although I was there to witness the cleaning (which occurred promptly) and a staff member told me to use a private restroom instead, I think it would have been ideal to have some kind of sign on the door so that everyone could be aware of the mess and smell throughout the night. Basically if no one told you about what happened, you wouldn’t have known before entering. This wasn’t an issue to me personally, but I recall other people in the hostel commenting on how they did not know what was going on. Overall a great place with friendly staff, I love that they do parties because it’s a great way to meet people; this is the only thing I thought could have been dealt with a little better.
