Son River Homestay

Property was very clean, staff were so friendly and helpful. The room had everything you need and a good working A/C as well as a fan! Right alongside the river with a beautiful landscape, you can enjoy your meals here. They speak very good English! Phuong was very helpful and informative and great to chat to! They also have free bicycles to use to cycle around , however these aren’t in the best of condition but still doesn’t stop you from cycling. You can also rent mopeds and book tours from the homestay which is good! -10 minute cycle to centre

- we had a great time here , however , upon booking it says 950m from centre , this wasn’t the case it’s about 2.5-3km , which is about 10 minute cycle , minute walk.

The view is nice (just keep in mind not every room gets the river view, we were lucky here). Coffe at the breakfast was ok

I am suspecting that most of the reviwes are fake, there is no way such a homestay would have a rate greater than 9, not even 8. So I am gonna write an honest review.. normally, i would go with 5-6, but I give 1, because there is clearly something wrong with the reviwes..  And we would be super happy to know in advance the place is not that good, as we were looking for something nice and clean for our wedding anniversary and thats why we were ready to pay slightly more than as usual.. but it was the worst stay we had in Vietnam.. - The rooms are basic, semi-clean with stinky blankets without bed linen. Luckily we had our liners, but... cmon? The doors of the room are tranlucent, there is always light in the hall.. so if you have trouble sleeping with lights on, you wont get much sleep. You can also hear everything in your room. Someone normally talking in the room under you, for example. - in front of our window was a balcony (not cleaned once in 3 days) for everyone. So everyone could look in our room... - breakfast is a joke (banana pancake full of oil and also raw - not cooked enough) - Staff makes you feel unwelcome and uncomfortable:  like it is not ok, that we stay there. It wasnt due to strong language barrier (as no english is spoken), we are used to that.. its a really strange vibe. It was too late for us to order food at 20:00, 3 days after it was not a problem for domestic tourists -We got a message about free Pick up/drop off from the center - in the end they offered to call us a taxi for 100.000  vnd (like for 3km) - sup rental is not always possible, we were told we can do it the next day (for a price 150k for 1 hour) - they said we could put our things in the shared fridge.. the next day it was gone. We are just super disappointed because the rating doesnt go with the Situation there at all.

Nice staff, good location and very picturesque. Can rent a bike from the homestay and book tours through them, however they are cheaper if you diy.

We were greet by Van who was so incredibly helpful during our stay. She got us set up when we rented a motorbike and was very helpful with local knowledge on what to do in the area. The room was very spacious and had two big double beds. We also got food at the Homestay restaurant and it was a really tasty noodle dish!

The air con was a little weak for our liking but it was during a heatwave so it could have been under pressure

The breakfast was basic but wonderful. The coffee incredible. The room was spotless, balcony overlooking the River. The only place I stayed in Vietnam where the pics are edited to make it look better. It’s excellent, budget friendly and quite!
