Aurora Ridge Cabin

Great location.

Not property vault, but the weather was crap for Aurora viewing most of the nights. Total buzz kill

Everything at the cabin is new and in good condition. It was clean and had everything we needed. Although we were worried about one bathroom working for 5 people, the water supply system worked great and we even had plenty of hot water for showers, etc the whole time.

Overall, the cabin was great for us but we had two issues that made our stay less comfortable. First, there was a strong musty smell upstairs in both bedrooms. we opened up the windows on the second floor and were able to clear out that odor enough that it was ok to sleep. Secondly, we weren’t crazy about the location, as it is very close to a main road and there is pretty loud highway noise if you are outside. However, It is not at all noticeable in the cabin so this wasn’t a big deal. The real problem was when we walked around the area a bit, and we would not recommend doing this. There is an assemblage of shacks and burned out vehicles in the woods in close proximity behind the cabin. There were a number of people who seemed to be residing there and keeping warm with a fire in a large metal can. I had some concern about safety because of that and would likely not stay at this cabin again if we visit the Fairbanks area.

Everything was great. This is one of the most comfortable places I have stayed. The atmosphere throughout the cabin was pleasant and classy. I particularly liked the vignettes with information and instructions scattered around where needed.

We could have used some air conditioning in 85 degree weather, but this did not take away the greatness of this place.

The cabin was very nice both inside and outside. It was also nice that it was secluded but also not very far from Fairbanks. My only issue was that we didnt stay at the cabin long enough to enjoy it. We filled our weekend with activities that didn't allow us to relax at the cabin. I highly recommend the Aurora Ridge Cabin.
