"Just about okay"

6.0

The location of the hotel is beautiful. The manor and the grounds are very well maintained. The spa facilities are simple but look like they are relatively new. The bathrooms in the rooms also look new. Staff were pleasant.

Thick carpets everywhere but that’s a personal choice. The cleanliness of the common areas is not good. Dust, dirt, cobwebs and dead insects are everywhere, inside and outside the property. AC hasn’t been cleaned for years. Dining hall is very dark and dusty. Smells bad. Food quality is not fresh. Bed mattress too soft & pillows too hard.

"Excellent hotel in a stunning location, somewhere we would definitely like to return"

10.0

The house and gardens are amazing, a beautiful setting for a relaxing break away. Delicious breakfast, made to order with plenty of choice. Spa facilities including pool spotlessly clean and comfortable. Sunday set lunch very good, overall experience fantastic. Cannot wait to return!

Restricted swimming hours for children (8.30-10am and 3-5pm), however understand the target clientele and reasons for the restricted hours, nevertheless meant that breakfast had to be rushed each day.

"Beautiful and relaxing with lovely food"

9.0

It’s beautiful and our upgraded room was stunning. The rooms in the main building though I wouldn’t score so highly. The breakfast was lovely and most staff were extremely polite and helpful.

If I stayed again I’d book the rooms above the spa to get the experience that matches the price.

"Tranquil country escape"

9.0

Tranquil bucolic escape from the city. I did not have to sign the bills or offer tips. Good walks to Badby Forest, Fawsley Church, Charwelton church (a bridleway halfway along the estate entry road) -through fields of sheep and cattle. Saw a fox and numerous squirrels. Excellent wine and all day food in the bistro. (I did not eat at the restaurant) It was a bank holiday weekend. Very busy but still relaxing.

I decided to stay another night and their offer was almost twice the price on Booking.com.
