The houseboat was pretty from outside

The room were dirty and not cosy , less amenities and poor electricity supply. The heating equation of the room was not at all satisfactory. They just lit 5-6 firewood in the bukhara at around 8pm and told us that it would heat up the room enough in a few hours and would help us for the whole night but in real the heat went in just 2-3 hours and the whole night was cold. Even on the morning we had to check out at 8:30 am and it was freezing inside the room to even change clothes. Very disappointing

Neat and clean and staff very friendly and Yasin was extremely helpful to organize the sightseeing.

Anything that stands out that I can was bad.

Boat was lovely inside - lots of lovely furniture and room was very spacious. Bed comfortable & constant hot water. Good location, not far from Ghat 9 and easy to get a boat across for 100 INR

Unfortunately there were quite a few things: - when we arrived, we immediately were encouraged to do a tour the following day with no questions about what we wanted to do in Dal Lake / Kashmir. The owner then seemed annoyed when we didn't agree to it / questioned the costs which got the stay off to a bad start - food was not great, breakfast especially. One morning it was inedible and we complained. Was 500 INR each for dinner for 1 course which felt a lot in comparison to other places we've stayed - was noisy and didn't feel like we had any privacy. Constant knocks on the door. 'Do not disturb' signs would really help. - Uninvited sellers were brought into the communal spaces when we were eating (jewellery, pashminas etc). We didn't want to buy anything (and would have been nice if we'd been asked if we were in the market) so it made for awkward interactions which made us feel uncomfortable and not relaxed - We booked a tour through the houseboat. The accommodation booked for us was really good, but the guide and driver were not. Driver continually drove recklessly despite us telling him to slow down / stop looking at his phone. We threatened no tip and that's the only way he slowed down. We had booked a 3 day tour but the guide finished at 12pm on the 3rd day for prayers and cut the tour short. - Houseboat boy asked for tips lots...tips should be given if service is great, not because someone asks - Overall felt overpriced for the rooms & service - nowhere near 4 star It felt like almost the entire time our hosts and the vast majority of people we interacted with were trying the upmost to extract extra money out of us and cheat us into overpaying…left a very bad taste.

Dal Lake is beautiful. Being on a houseboat by the water was delightful. The view was amazing and watching Golden Eagles and experience of a lifetime. Riding on the water in the shikara was very special.

Our toilet was broken and the shower/bath leaked across the bathroom floor. We mentioned this several times but nothing was done. The food was meagre. We discussed with the owner what we wanted to do on our stay and he offered to be our guide. We agreed on a price. It was not cheap but he said he could arrange everything we wanted and not to worry. In short, he ripped us off! We didn’t go where we asked and spent one dreadful day driving on busy roads through busy towns when we were meant to be in the hills!

Houseboat was beautiful and the location was good with pleasant view

Cleanliness and hygiene was very poor. The bedsheets and toilet were very unclean. Facilities were very poor. There was no drinking water in the room which we had to buy later. We had to ask for the soap, toilet sandal and toilet paper which they delivered almost 4hrs later. Staff was not at all cooperative. Only one staff was present and most of the time he was absent while needed.
