GBA historic property in a great location next to the river and all the sights
The communal areas were a little cold although the heating was effective in our room. Would benefit from new bedding and improved cleaning as our pillowcases did not seem as clean as we would have liked.

INBeautiful old Ryokan, very clean and affordable. Right in the opposite bank of the Miyagawa morning market. Takayama itself is really beautiful and the Ryokan matches the aesthetics perfectly.
Nothing really, top notch place
PTGreat location. Good showers.
Extremely thin walls, the showers were on the ground floor and you have to go through the entrance/check-in area. Check-in is done with a very slow/buggy software and a videocall with staff.

PLLocation is prime, we got the room with a window to the river during January, the snow in the city made the view pristine. The place was super clean and the rooms cozy. Beds 10/10 I had the best sleep in the whole trip. They have free tea and coffee.
GBLocation is great for access to the morning markets and the town, different rooms to choose from either a dorm style with bunk beds or more traditional rooms with futons.
The accomodation has no staff on site they work remotely (which is amazing) but when it came to check in they announce your room number for anyone to hear which I wasn't a fan of. At the time of our visit there was construction under way and some of the workers were sat in the welcome area.
