Mirage Desert Camp

It was a small and intimate camo. Only 3 camps. The staff is amazing!!! From logistics to their chef speciality. Even after I left and need a contact they helped me out. Its close enough to everything but for away from the noisy camps. Perfection. Beds are cozy. Tents sre great. Food was excellent. Come with a big appetite because they will feed you. Honestly these guys are the gems of the desert. Thank you!!!

Путешествововали на машине по Оману в ноябре. И решили, что обязательно должны остановиться с ночёвкой в пустыне. Нашла данный вариант размещения и забронировала жилье из России с оплатой уже по факту заселения. 2 палатки. Одну для нас и одну для двоих детей. За пару дней списалась с владельцем, через переводчик общались по ватсап. Он нас встретил на своем внедорожнике. Приветливый, открытый и добрый человек. К сожалению, его имя мы забыли) Само жилье великолепное. Удобная и мягкая кровать. Полотенце и зубные щётки для каждого. Туалет работал, душ тоже. Вода холодная для вечера, но днем в жару, принять душ было особым удовольствием. Нас отвозили на ужин и завтрак. Еда понравилась. Даже детям. На следующий день катались по барханам. Это обязательно к посещению за любые деньги. Вообще, оманцы очень гостеприимный народ. Нигде нас не встречали так радужно как в этой стране. Привет вам из России от семьи Поповых.

Мы ночевали в пустыне в пятницу. А в пятницу у оманцев выходной, поэтому в тишине поспать не получилось. Всю ночь слушали в далеке как катаются джипы. Но, спали все равно крепко и выспались.

Wie in anderen Bewertungen erwähnt ist es ein kleines Camp. Durch die Dünen war es auch schön privat und abgeschirmt von der "Hauptstraße" durch die Wüste. Ich wurde abgeholt und zu meinem 2WD Auto zurückgebracht für 10 rial. Auch werden einige Aktivitäten angeboten. Man sieht den Sternenhimmel schon gut, aber die Lichtverschmutzung ist noch eher hoch, da man doch noch nahe an der Stadt ist. Das erste weiche Bett in Oman, dass ich hatte.

Das Camp liegt etwas abseits der Hauptroute in die Wüste hinter einer Düne. So haben wir in die eine Richtung einen ungetrübten Blick in die Wüste gehabt, auf der anderen Seite die Düne im Rücken, sodass die Lage sehr privat und ruhig ist. Saddam ist ein außergewöhnlich aufmerksamer, neugieriger und liebenswürdiger Gastgeber, der uns viele Einblicke in Land und Leute gegeben hat. Wir waren zwei Nächte dort und konnten in dem offenen Gemeinschaftszelt wunderbar entspannen. Zum Sonnenuntergang ging es dann mit Ghanin zum sand bashing und boarding in die Wüste, was ein Heidenspaß war.

Kamelreiten ist keine Empfehlung. Man wird nur eine kurze Runde an der Leine geführt und die Kamele sind in keinem guten Zustand.

Un camp éloigné de la ville, très facile à trouver grâce au support de Sadam ( l'arrivée en 4x4 est simple). Une nuit hors du temps sous les étoiles avec très bon diner et petit déjeuner. Merci Sadam

Nous avons apprécié l'accueil et le côté intimiste de ce camp un peu en retrait.

Situé en dehors de la foule de camps touristiques à l'entrée du désert. Seulement 3 tentes. Très bon accueil. Des activités sont proposées. Bon rapport qualité prix par rapport aux autres offres concurrentes.

Aurait pu être plus convivial car il n'y a pas véritablement d'immersion bédouine. Pour cela il faut prendre des activités...mais ce doit être partout pareil.

Something you should know in general about the desert camps in Wahiawa Sands: There are hundreds of camps around and the most popular activity is dune bashing. Young males with powerful four-wheel-drive cars try to conquer the dunes making lots of noise and exhaust fuse. try to avoid Fridays and Saturdays. Luckily, the Mirage Desert Camp is in between two dunes, so it’s a little bit more secluded. Saddam, a friendly guy from Yemen, was extremely helpful and kind. On the way in, we pushed our bicycles, which is somehow a crazy idea. I assume people still talk about these foolish Germans. On the way out, Saddam gave us a lift and did not charge for it. We heard that some camps charge quite a bit of money, which is not mentioned when you book the place.

There is not much to complain about. If you want to find something, it could be that Saddam is not the most punctual person in the world.
