The rooms in the hotel were of a high standard. They were very comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was good. This was an excellent hotel.

We checked out the cost of the evening meal, which was a set price for 3 courses. As we didn't feel we could manage three courses, we didn't eat there. We did ask but were told 3 courses were the minimum.

"We enjoyed our stay in this period hotel and would use it again to explore the northern lakes."

The staff were delightful, friendly, efficient. The evening meals were very good. The room was well appointed and clean. Car parking arrangements were good. The hotel was close to local amenities. The lounge and bar area was welcoming and comfortable.

The breakfasts could have been better in terms of the quality of ingredients. The interior of the hotel building was very dated, though improvements are being made.
