The Mountain House ist ein wunderbar gelegenes kleines Hotel in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße von Pokhara – tagsüber nah am Leben, nachts erstaunlich ruhig, sodass man sehr gut schlafen kann. Es wird von einer ausgesprochen herzlichen Besitzerfamilie geführt, bei der ich mich vom ersten Moment an gut aufgehoben gefühlt habe. Ich war sowohl in der ersten Nacht meiner Nepal-Reise als auch nach meiner Trekkingtour dort und hätte mir keinen besseren Start und Abschluss wünschen können. Die Familie unterstützt einen bei allem rund um die Reiseplanung, hilft bei der Organisation von Touren und Guides und leiht bei Bedarf sogar einzelne Ausrüstungsgegenstände wie Rucksack oder Stöcke. Meine Poon-Hill-Tour habe ich direkt über das Haus gebucht und hatte mit Jiwan einen Guide, der hervorragend zu mir passte: Er konnte sich sehr gut auf mein Tempo und meine Bedürfnisse einstellen, wir konnten über Politik genauso wie über Persönliches sprechen – und auch einfach mal schweigend nebeneinander hergehen. Weil ein guter Guide für die Qualität einer Tour entscheidend ist, kann ich sowohl The Mountain House als auch Jiwan von Herzen weiterempfehlen.

The Mountain House ist ein ruhig gelegenes, sehr herzlich geführtes kleines Hotel in einer Seitenstraße von Pokhara, in dem ich meine Trecking Tour begonnen und beendet habe, mich vom ersten Moment an bestens aufgehoben fühlte, wertvolle Unterstützung bei Touren, Ausrüstung und Guide-Organisation erhielt und das ich – ebenso wie meinen Guide Jiwan für die Poon-Hill-Tour – uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen kann.

The Mountain House is an outstanding place to stay in Pokhara. It is perfectly located in a small side street, which is relatively quiet at night, so you can really rest well after a long day. The guesthouse is run by a very friendly family who make you feel welcome and well taken care of from the very first moment. They are always ready to help with anything you might need – from answering everyday questions to planning your treks, arranging a guide or transport, and even lending you equipment like a backpack or trekking poles if required. I booked the Poon Hill trek through The Mountain House and went with their guide Jiwan. The tour was extremely beautiful, and Jiwan was an excellent match for me. He adapted very well to my pace and needs, and our conversations ranged from politics to personal topics – and at other times, we could simply walk in comfortable silence. Since the quality of your experience in the mountains depends a lot on your guide, I can recommend Jiwan without any hesitation. Overall, The Mountain House combines a great location, a warm and supportive family atmosphere, and very professional support for trekking. I would definitely stay there again and fully recommend it to anyone planning to explore Pokhara and the Annapurna region.

Ik was er redelijk vroeg en kon al heerlijk optijd inchecken. Het personeel was vriendelijk en ondanks dat ik maar 1 nachtje bleef was het een heelrijk rustig hotel op een top locatie in de stad.

Close to everything in Pokhara, staff are super friendly and helpful. They speak very good English. Nice rooms and clean!

Nabin and his whole family have a beautiful hotel and they instantly make you feel at home.They are so genuinely warm and friendly. The hotel is in the perfect location, just a few minutes walk from the main Street, yet far enough away to be perfectly peaceful. The views of Machapuchare from the front balconies are simply remarkable! The rooms are spotlessly clean, spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Weve stayed here numerous times, and the welcome and standards are always the same! Simply brilliant.
