Staying here was an unforgettable experience thanks to the incredible hospitality of Nalin and his family. They went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and cared for. The place was spotless, and the included dinner was absolutely amazing, honestly the best food I’ve had during my trip. I had an issue with my left eye, which was swollen and painful, Nalin kindly took me to the doctor for a check up, which meant so much, especially as I was traveling alone. I can’t recommend this place enough. Nalin and his family are truly wonderful!

Amazing trip, and our host made it extra special - before we even arrived he helped to organise our safari, was flexible with check in and check out times and provided wonderful food and a great room which far exceeded our expectations. The local area (lakes) were amazing, and he helped us make the most of our time there.

Word cannot express how grateful we are to Nalin and Isharni for welcoming us into their home during Sinhalese New Year. Staying at Black Panther Yala was the absolute highlight of our two weeks in Sri Lanka. It was such a special weekend where we learnt/ate traditional food (e.g. oil cake), participated in the rituals and traditions and met the neighbours and relatives. The room was comfortable and the food delicious. Dinner included is such a rare treat. The location is lovely, set next to the wetlands. You can borrow bike and ride around the area. We did a safari through a driver that our host recommended and it was amazing. I would highly recommend Black Panther to anyone!

Words cannot really express how kind and accommodating Nalin and his family were. They did so much beyond expectations to make our stay perfect. We had to stay an extra day due to sickness and from getting medication from the pharmacy, arranging everything we needed no matter what and just generally being very interesting and keen to learn about other cultures in a completely comfortable and non intrusive manner it was superb. Been to Sri Lanka many times and mat so many kind Sri Lankans but Nalin clearly stands out. The rooms were spotless, no smell of damp (which can happen due to humidity in some places), we had the room of AC which was lovely, but a family member had a non ac room which was comfortable with the fans provided. Food was superb and they will arrange ahead of any dietary requirements. It was an honour to stay there and have the please of such good hospitality. I can see why this is 10/10 and 5* on Google! Also ask ahead about Safari and what animals you want to see and the type of trip you want because Yalla can be quite hectic and Nalin will help a lot. We arranged a tour beforehand which was good but it would have been better to have had some local knowledge prior to this as the Safari was quite hectic.
