Black Panther Yala

Nalin and his wife are AMAZING. The accomodation is AMAZING. They took such great care of my partner and I and they have a great enthusiasm for sharing knowledge about Sri Lanka and their town. I can't recommend this gem highly enough. The rooms are a good size, so clean and beautiful bathroom. Black Panther is private and quiet and feels like a little oasis. His wife is a brilliant cook and we had one of the best meals in three weeks! The surrounding area is beautiful with much wildlife that Nalin will show you. Temples and the town are nearby. We booked our safari through Nalin and it was so easy and a good price. We wish we had stayed longer.

Nalin was the best gost I had in Sri Lanka - so helpful, friendly, hospitable. I originally booked this place for the safari, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much there was to explore nearby. Beautiful lakes, jungles, temples, a bat viewpoint, and plenty of nature… Nalin also provided me with a bicycle, making it easy to explore the surroundings. The dinner prepared by Nalin’s wife was absolutely delicious. The room had everything I needed. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to nature lovers!

We had an unforgettable experience! The hosts were incredibly kind and friendly, truly deserving of a 10+. The room was spotless and the bed was super comfortable, ensuring a restful stay. The dinner that was included was absolutely delicious, and we savored every bite. We felt like we were in paradise during our stay, surrounded by beauty and tranquility. The hosts even provided bicycles, which allowed us to explore the area at our own pace. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Highly highly recommend this place! It is run by the kindest family who truly just go out of their way to ensure your stay is perfect. The owner welcomed us with welcome drinks as soon as we arrived and gave us in depth information about the area and what we can visit and see. We were then served a delicious dinner with dessert all included in the price. The room is very clean and comfortable with everything you could need. We went on our safari the next day, which he organised for us, and he woke up at 3am just to make us coffee before and ensure we were given the best seats when picked up! When we returned we were given another welcome drink and allowed to stay as long as we needed, giving us time to shower and wash our clothes. It was also a public holiday so all the restaurants were closed, but he drove to the nearest open bakery and picked us up food for lunch. Everything they did was without ask - truly just amazing people.

The best stay in Sri Lanka so far. Owners are very kind and amazing people, they do everything to make your stay comfortable. Room was super clean, it had comfy bed, good towels etc. all you need for good stay. Location is few minutes by foot to the lake where you can observe many spices of birds and also crocodile or buffalos. Our stay included dinners and it was the most delicious dinner during our trip around Sri Lanka. Owners even allowed us to use washing machine for free :). If you make Safari, jeep will pick up you from that location so no worries. You can also take a bicycle to have a ride around lakes.

The absolute BEST place we stayed during our month long travel around Sri Lanka! It's understandable why Black Panther has only 10/10 reviews! They deserve it! - Room and bathroom were immaculately clean. - The bed was big, long and comfortable. The sheets were super soft and the pillows perfect. Everything felt brand new. - The A/C and ceiling fan both worked very well. - Drying rack provided in the room. - Flat screen TV with English and Sports channels available. - Water heater in the shower. - Dinner and desserts were different and delicious each evening. - Property is gated. It is off the main road so it was quiet at night and we slept great. - Free bicycles to use. - The safaris we booked with them were amazing! The breakfast/lunch/snacks/fruit/bottles of water the home-stay provided for these was unbelievable and way more than we could eat. They also provided us with binoculars which were definitely appreciated. The owners were beyond kind and helpful with everything and anything needed. They made us feel so welcome and comfortable and it felt like they truly only wanted the best stay/safaris/meals/everything for us. The information and all the different things to do and see in Tissamaharama they provided all turned out to be incredible and places we'll never forget. We definitely recommend staying here!!!

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

We had the best stay at Black Panther! Nalin is the kindest person ever and so helpful with everything! He took us around and spotted some super nice birds. He was really knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information about them. He also helped with organizing a safari to Yala where we had a great time :) Also the rest of the family is so nice and the dinner we had was absolutely delicious, one of the best we had so far! The rooms are further really spacious and clean, felt really comfortable! We will definitely come back!

Food was incredible, one of the best meals we had in Sri Lanka. Nice selection of curries, the centella asiatica curry in particular was very nice. Dessert was also really nice, curd with cinnamon honey. The breakfast supplied for the safari was also delicious, very big portions and the fresh fruit was amazing. Host is incredibly kind and generous. Allowed us to extend our stay by a few hours so we could get cleaned up after the safari. Had great conversations with the host as well. Cannot recommend staying at Black Panther Yala enough.

I feel very lucky to stay at Nalin’s place. I highly recommend it! It was the best place during my trip. The room was very clean, the mattress was comfortable. We got 5 star service here. Nalin was very kind and nice, prepared everything I asked for, hot water for shower, fruit and blanket. He also brought us to see sunrise, visit 4 beautiful lakes and local temples, and introduced birds. He has very rich bird knowledge. We even saw swimming crocodile in a lake! His wife cooks so well! We had super delicious homemade dinner. I really love it! Nalin also helped us book a safari, and we saw leopard, bear, and many other animals.
