Noisy fridge

We had a fantastic weekend staying in the shepherd's hut. It is located in beautiful countryside but well signposted and walkable to Todmorden and Hebden. We had no problem getting a taxi back after a couple of drinks in Todmorden! The hut itself is gorgeous - we have stayed in a few shepherd's huts and this is by far the best in terms of amenities and it has a lovely view. We loved the hot tub and there was everything you need. I also loved the fact they put balloons out for my birthday. Communication with Neil was brilliant and he was very kind and accommodating. It was so good that I rebooked the whole site for next year with my friends before I'd even left! Once again thanks so much and we'll definitely be back!

This place feels like a home away from home after our second visit here. It’s clean and relaxing and perfect for a stress free few nights away. The hot tub is spacious and all the other facilities are perfect! Cannot fault this place at all and we will sure be returning, yet again!

I booked to stay in one of the Shepards Huts for 2 nights as I was travelling to the area for a wedding. We travelled by public transport and was able to reach the huts via taxi (approximately an £8 fare) from Todmorden station but did also did go on a bus passed the site when we were out for the wedding. We didn’t meet our hosts in person but contacted them a number of times via messages on booking.com and they were quick to reply and really helpful in providing information as well as other helpful things they thought may help. The hut itself was beautifully furnished, compact but with everything we needed for a few nights. There was a 2 ring hob and a microwave, a toaster, kettle and small fridge (with a very small icebox/freezer compartment). Tea and coffee were provided and we found some milk in the fridge too (not sure if this is standard or was left by the previous occupant). I would say its definitely worth reading through the handbook they provide for the cabin as it will let you know useful information that may not be immediately obvious like where outside cushions are stashed. One of the highlights for me was the view from our hut (pictured) – it was magical to be able to sit outside the hut looking at the view, as well as enjoying the wood fired hot tub in the evening when all the solar lights came on. I would love to stay here again and would recommend for a cozy stay to other people I know.

The bed in the property is quite high – not an issue for us, particularly but may be something for other people to be aware of. There are also a few steps up into the hut, and stones in front so may not be accessible for people with certain mobility issues.

I really appreciated how clean and cosy the room was, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, perfect for a restful stay. It was also super convenient being able to order Uber Eats right to the door. The hot tub was definitely a highlight, collecting the wood and lighting the fire to heat it made the experience feel authentic and special. Every moment felt like a treat. I also loved waking up to the sounds of nature, birds singing, no traffic noise, just pure peace and quiet.

The only downside for me was the lack of privacy in certain areas. One of the nearby houses has two windows facing directly towards the hut, which means they can easily see inside, especially when the lights are on. To avoid this, you have to close the curtains at night, but doing so means missing out on the stunning views of the sky, stars, and surrounding mountains. It somewhat takes away from the immersive nature experience and makes the space feel a bit enclosed, almost like being in a basement. It also felt like the hot tub and fire pit area were visible from that house, which made me slightly uncomfortable at times. Aside from that, everything else was perfect and the overall stay was truly enjoyable.

The hut was absolutely immaculate with everything you could possibly need. Perfect location also! We will definitely be back.

We had the best stay at Stoodley View Shepard Huts!! The hut had everything we needed for a short stay. The bed was comfortable and the facilities were great and exceptionally clean. The location is great and easy walking distance to Todmorden. We will definitely be coming to stay again ⭐️

Spacious, remote , relaxing

Nothing it was perfect !

The location was perfect, close to Hebden Bridge and Todmorden for days out and some fantastic walks and pubs nearby. We walked up to Stoodley Pike which was great.
