Lake Shafer Resort

The price for the weekend was such a deal!!! Animal friendly so I was able to take my fur baby. Loved the lake view in every window of the house. Rooms were up to date and clean. Beds were super comfortable. The paddle boat was an amazing experience on the lake. The TV had it's own firestick. Loved that there were card games and uno. The property has 2 grills and so glad it had the gas all ready and also had an option for charcoal if u wanted to grill that way as well. Loved the fire pit and that we had all we needed to make a fire. It was quiet, relaxing and very beautiful. The manager was so very kind, accommodating and welcoming.

The well water smelled of rotten eggs in the sink and shower. The softener was so strong I couldn't get my hands to feel like the soap was off my hands. No drinking water so had to buy gallons of water for the weekend. I'm so highly allergic to cats and they were on the outside area sofas all day so I wasn't able to enjoy the sofa area. Definitely can use more socket plugs in the rooms and living room.

Everything! The amenities were wonderful from kayaking to night swimming. The apartment was clean and well stocked with the basics. Owners were friendly and very accommodating. Will definitely stay again!

Parking was at a premium. Would’ve been OK if we were traveling by ourselves in just one car, but we had multiple vehicles. In the end, it worked out OK.

Parking isn’t that great.

The unit was exactly as pictured. Very clean and comfortable. Of note, there are ceiling fans in living room and 2 bedrooms. The bedroom with bunk beds has a tower fan, very thoughtful. Lora was very friendly and helpful. She always checked to see if we needed anything when she saw us. Beds were very comfortable, and I never say that about hotel beds. The unit had a full kitchen and dishwasher. The bedrooms had closets and end tables with electrical and/or USB outlets. Keyless lock on door was set to last four digits of my phone number, so we didn't have to worry about remembering that. Plenty of hot water and nice shower heads. Within walking distance of Indiana Beach Amusement Park. Nice grills and grilling utensils. Good access to lake if you wanted to kayak or fish. They allow dogs, and that just never happens. The room as smoke free, but had places to smoke outside.

The unit maybe a little tight if you have 10 people and spent a lot of time inside there, just a little bit.

Very clean! Offers lots of extras. The pool was so clean and not over chlorinated. The towels were actual pool towels which was nice.
