The location and that it had parking, we were upgraded to the master suite which was lovely

Central location on Topsham Main Street, close to shops and restaurants

We booked a nights stay as we’re visiting our son at Lympstone. We had an early start that morning so what attracted us to book was the kitchen with teas, coffees, bread, cereals etc so we could have breakfast quickly and easily. However, none of that materialised for us, no milk, no bread so we left hungry, compounded by fact there’s no tea making facilities in the room either - and it wasn’t cheap at £148 per night for a very basic room. When I complained the hotel offered me a £30 refund, I accepted that but I’m still waiting for it more than 2 weeks later. I say don’t bother with this place, over-priced for what it is, and poor customer service to boot.

We didn’t realise that there would be no staff and no restaurant because it was a Sunday.

The Salutation Inn is a beautiful boutique hotel in a central location in Topsham. The rooms, the food and facilities are brilliantly presented and the staff are wonderful. Polite and human and so helpful without any obsequiousness they just make you feel welcome and at home from the start.
