Sterling Goa Varca

I liked the hotel generally but the size of my suite and the staff attitude were particularly endearing. I was particularly impressed by Alexander, the manager who went out of his way to help me with the problem I had encountered with my Indian debit card!

The meals of which we had including breakfast and dinner can be improved upon.

The property has good Christmas decor and housekeeping staff is easy to talk to. Air conditioning was decent and good sized rooms.

Unfortunately, the hotel is not to the quality and standards for a 4 star hotel. They also had rude front desk staff (who were focused on putting white marker on a form, and didn’t guide where to go for elevator) and had loud music playing on Monday evening. The breakfast food had half cooked paranthas, flies running around, and was missing basic things like omelette, or eggs. The bathroom did not have a glass door for the shower so the water would come out even after closing the shower curtain. The toiletries were also not up to mark in comparison to other 4 star hotels like Hyatt. There is a taxi union right opposite the hotel so it is tough to get taxi ordered to this location via Goa Miles app. Have to book taxi via the taxi union. Electricity went out often and it took few minutes for the electricity to come back up. So in case you are in bathroom at that time, it becomes a bit challenging for some minutes. Opposite our room, there is another hotel that has black plastic hanging from the roof so in the night, it seemed weird until someone from housekeeping informed us that it is just a plastic hanging from the roof. The hotel was same priced as Hyatt in North Goa, so mind keeps comparing the two hotels.
