Il Vecchio Torchio

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this option to anyone. Located at a small village very close to Varenna, it gave us a possibility not only to save money (as the accomodation prices in Varenna are insane) but also enjoy the Italian countryside's calmness. It takes 5-7 minutes to reach the house if you are travelling by car. On the other hand, ordering a taxi is also possible and doesn't cost a fortune. Every detail in house is so well-thought out by the lovely hosts. You can literally find anything a traveller might need- hair dryer, extra blanket, books and travel guides, a bag for food shopping, etc. Big big thanks! P.S. A tip: It might have sense to take a taxi driver's number and plan a trip to the city beforehand if you schedule something specific. That helped us to save the time. A list of taxi drivers and numbers were provided by the host.

Nothing in particular

We had an exceptional stay at the apartment! It is super clean, very well equipped, located in a nice quiet place 9-10 minutes away from Varenna. There is a nice clean beach within 10 minutes of walking from the apartment. The hosts were very, very nice and helpful. Our car was blocked by another car in Varenna, and our hosts picked us up from there at 1 a.m. You don't meet such nice people very often. If we travel to lake Como again we'll definitely stay at the same place. We will certainly recommend this gem to others.

We liked everything. There were no negative things.

Would you like to stay in a cosy 2 bedroom house, with a spacious living room and kitchen (all kitchen equipment included)? Do you want to have a pation and a garden full of flowers, herbs and a grill at your disposal? Then this is the place to go. We were welcomed by a very friendly hostess, Angela. She had a bowl of fruit for us at our arrival, and then we twice received fresh fruit during our stay. Generally the communication was very good. Angela was nice and always willing to help. The lake is within walking distance. The area is quiet.  Il Vecchio Torchio  absolutely deserves 10 out of 10.

Everything was great, hostess Anzhela was extremely nice and caring, she gave us some wonderful tips and was very helpful. The house itself was nice and clean, quite spacious, and had everything one could need. There is a small garden with BBQ facilities and fresh herbs. Varenna is 10 mins away by car. There is also a very clean and nice beach nearby, but be prepared to walk uphill on your way back to the house - it was a nice exercise for us.

Very fast responsive and helpful host. House is bigger than it seems on the pictures. A little too far to go by foot but taxi's are for reasonable price. We really liked the apartement and would go again 10/10.

This was an amazing property. Very clean, very spacious, and very comfortable beds/linens. The hosts provided many small things that we appreciated very much, including some fruits, coffee/tea, and wonderful tourist information for attractions/grocery stores etc. The hosts were the best part: they were super nice, very understanding, very informative and very flexible. We loved this place!

Considering the size of the the two-story house, the only thing that could be better was the bathroom. It was just a little bit small for 4 people, but this didn’t bother us much at all.
