Lapis Restaurant and Hostel

Lovely hostel near the center of Tam Cốc. The room was very clean, and the hosts were super friendly and helpful. There’s a restaurant on the ground floor with delicious food—highly recommend!

Warning before booking ⚠️⚠️⚠️

Warning before booking! ⚠️ Booked through booking.com, got confirmation as shown in the picture. When we arrived we were made to wait about 10 minutes, only to be told there was no room available. The host made no effort to assist with another booking or transfer to another booking location, or anything else that would be helpful after giving away our confirmed booking. Considering it was late and they overbooked all he said that it was busy and that he was sorry. I would book elsewhere for peace of mind.

Bed was comfy and that was the only positive

Worst hostel i’ve ever stayed in, watched multiple people check in and no change of the bed sheets, literally just brushed the sheet over with their hand, one of the girls checking in asked them to change it and they straight up said no. she checked out within 10 minutes. SO dirty, dust and cobwebs everywhere, don’t think the rooms ever been cleaned, didn’t see anything being cleaned whatsoever. no staff on reception barely ever, a girl had to wait 45 minutes to check in and she was there at the appropriate time. Food was not nice, staff come in at whatever time, came in at 8am turned the light on and just felt around peoples beds that they were in to see if they were free?? and tried to take a bed with someone’s stuff obviously in it??came in constantly to check if there were beds free, no organisation at ALL. tried to charge us to leave our bags there when we were staying there?? god knows how long they go without changing the beds, saw 3 separate people check in to one of the beds and still no change.
