Blu Mare Apartment

This is a clean and well maintained apartment right by the train station and overlooking the Main Street of Vernazza. The building is a historic property yet it has all modern comforts including a beautiful kitchen and very good size bathroom. I loved the coffee maker and milk frother which made the best cappuccinos. We also really loved the fact that it had a washing machine. The unit suited our needs perfectly and the owner was very responsive to any questions or issues that we had. We would come back here in a heart beat. Something fun that I loved is that they have a clothes drying line on a pulley right under the front window and they supply clothes pins to use.

If you are sensitive to noise, there is some noise from the train station and some noise on the morning that they were setting up the once a week farmer’s market, but for us it wasn’t a concern. FYI - They don’t supply paper towels for the kitchen but we paid less than 2 Euro for a roll of paper towels in the local convenience store and they came in really handy to use both in the kitchen and to clean up our hiking shoes.

I tried to contact the property days before to get entry instructions. They didn't reply back until the night before and we spent more than two hours trying to process my credit card before they would do that. Apparently their credit machine or service won't process the new security-type cards with two factor authentication. We ended up paying by IBAN transfer.

Host were not helpful and seemed annoyed with any calls or questions. Never returned calls or messages prior to arrival to know what to expect. Other hosts could be seen being very engaged and helpful with their guests. Exact opposite with this host. Very poor

The location was great! Very close to the train station, not far to the water, you have restaurants and shops downstairs. Vernazza is a small town it takes just a few minutes to walk top to bottom To the left out the door, it is just a couple of blocks to the trail to Monterossa. The trailhead to Corniglia on the other side of the train platform. I heard the train a few times during the first night, but I always travel with earplugs, it didnt bother me again. Trains are so much quieter in Italy than in thr US. My husband didn't hear it all.

I would have loved an info sheet on the table as we checked in, as check-in is independent of the host. It could have had wifi info, an explanation of the key in the dish that looked like a car key to me, but ended up to be the key to get out of the door. Just a little thing host was available for questions, but could have the host some time

Perfect location near the train station. Newly modernized apartment with everything you need. Small market close by for groceries. Very clean and comfortable bed- memory foam mattress.
