CASASUNSHA Hybrid Retreat Santorini

The location was perfect with beautiful views of the caldera. The room were modern and spacious. The breakfast was delicious and generous. Now the staff.... the most amazing people we have ever met. Attentive and kind. Yannis, our waiter, was exceptional. And Maria!!! A true gem who made our stay memorable. A must visit hotel.

From the moment we arrived NOTHING was too much trouble. We were met at the airport and collected in a luxury executive vehicle. We were dropped near the hotel/suite, as there is no vehicular access and were met by a porter who then took our bags for us to our room. We were met by Maria, who took us to our room and explained that we’d been given an upgrade. The room was out of this world. We had our own patio area with indoor and outdoor hot tubs. The outdoor pool had a view over Fira harbour, overlooking the volcano and the most wonderful sunsets! Inside the suite is a smart tv with Netflix etc, a kitchen with fridge, coffee making facilities etc and plenty of bottled water. There was a spacious bedroom, a dressing room and a lovely bathroom with fabulous rainfall shower and not forgetting the indoor hot tub, so you can relax with your favourite wine whilst watching your favourite tv shows!! Breakfast is served in their own restaurant, Sunsha Fiesta which is a stone’s throw away, overlooking the volcano. Fresh croissants, pain au chocolate, rolls and a charcuterie board, coffee and water and then a serving of the breakfast of the day, ie eggs Benedict, avocado and scrambled eggs on toast etc. There are not enough superlatives to describe Maria, she is the most friendly, welcoming lady! Absolutely NOTHING was too much trouble for her. Her knowledge of the island is second to none and she was able to make recommendations and arrangements for whatever excursions or entertainment you wish. Whenever I messaged her, a response was back within 10-15 minutes max. The room was cleaned meticulously daily, all towels changed and the patio area cleaned. There were towels for your sun loungers as well. All staff involved cannot do enough for you. I can honestly recommend Casa Sunsha and definitely Maria to anyone visiting the island. You will not be disappointed and this venue will make your trip worthwhile. We will be coming back for a second visit and wouldn’t stay

The location really is incredible. Beautiful views of the ocean and the volcano with all of the restaurants and bars in Fira within walking distance. The staff were so helpful, kind and friendly, especially to our 4 year old son who was with us.

This hotel is not for families or anybody that wants to sleep at night. It is called a "hybrid retreat" which basically means there is a bar and restaurant attached to the "hotel" part of the property. Music starts around 11am and really kicks in around 8pm at the restaurant until 2am. I cannot explain how annoying this was. Night after night. Unbearable given the price we paid. The facility doesn't really know what it is. Is it a bar and restaurant? Or is it a hotel? We don't know and the property certainly doesn't know either. In regards to the breakfast there was one choice only each day which was offered. There wasn't a menu, you were simply told we have x for breakfast today. Again, for the price this was not acceptable.
