INThe location was excellent, and with few guests during my stay, I essentially had the entire dorm to myself—a lucky perk! The rooms offered stunning views, including hot air balloons drifting by in the morning right outside the window. The on-site restaurant was another highlight, with its peaceful overlook of the mountains and a small river—perfect for relaxing. The beds were very comfortable, and while the AC wasn’t the strongest, the cool nighttime weather made it a non-issue. A serene and enjoyable stay overall!
"I was fortunate to have the room to myself during my stay—if shared, the single bathroom per floor with its poor plumbing would’ve been a real issue. The room had a major fly infestation; I resorted to leaving the bathroom light on at night to lure them away, only to wake up to a carpet of dead insects—fine for me, but unsettling for anyone squeamish. While the owner was wonderfully kind and hospitable, two female staff members were shockingly indifferent—they spent their time chain-smoking and napping, showing zero interest in assisting guests or maintaining the facility. Despite these flaws, the owner’s warmth made the stay tolerable, though the place desperately needs plumbing upgrades and pest control."
PHBest views of Vangvieng sunsets. The stark contrast of the setting sun behind the karst mountains during twilight leaves the guests with a spectacular scenery to remember. Their accommodation of my transfer and tour needs including cancellation and rescheduling. The owner is good in handling my requests regarding these.
Smells a bit, and there are no toiletries when I booked a separate room. Not even soap. Also I had my clothes put up for laundry but they didnt finish during check out so it left smelling bad and wet - I paid for it for almost $4 so I expected a good service but I got an excuse as it was raining the night before, however, why didnt they get a dryer? I chose the place for convenience. I wouldnt have written this if I was refunded instead. Now I dont have clothes left to contine my tour for the days as I had these rewashed in Luang Prabang.
