Loch Erisort House

Elaine was incredibly kind and a great host. Lovely rooms, nice bar (try the Lewis gin!), super breakfast and well-located to explore both Lewis and Harris.

Staff were friendly. Views were unbelievable! Food was good.

We booked a room online and we received a confirmation of our room payment. When we arrived at the hotel there was no-one there. We waited an hour and then a tradesmen turned up. He apologised profusely and let us in, but he said that the hotel was closed because there were no bookings! Later on in the evening the hosts turned up; they had been shopping somewhere. I had texted the host in the afternoon and left a voicemail on her phone but she didn’t bother replying. There was no chef in the evening and no staff. So no restaurant. The kind tradesman offered to pick up some pizzas for us from a local eatery, which we paid for. No offer of any discount or any sincere apology. This was very disappointing. We found the hotel over priced but at least it was clean and comfortable and somewhere to sleep.

The owners, Peter and Elaine, could not have been more welcoming and hospitable. The food — breakfast and dinner — was excellent, our accommodations were comfortable, and their recommendations for exploring Lewis were really super.

I wish we could have stayed another few days. The Isle of Lewis is a treasure.

Room was clean and bed was comfy. View was nice. Dinner was quick and delicious.

We had to wait more than 30min for hot breakfast.

Only suggestion is putting a normal height sink in room 6 as well as the other one

As a tour guide I had two guests staying here. They were a little dissapointed on arrival as the building is tired externally, we entered via the dining room which again is a little tired. Other than that my guests had a comfortable stay, nice big room, good food, and a very good welcome from the owners. It is a little expensive, but that's down to supply and demand. The islands are expensive no matter where you stay. Would I put guests here again, yes, happily.

Building a little tired, but work is going on to remedy this.

The hotel was quite basic and felt it needed home comforts to make it feel more like a hotel. Breakfast was yummy but very early for a Sunday 7.30-8.30
