Edem Tourist Inn Malapascua

We were really looking forward to our stay, but unfortunately, the experience was quite uncomfortable. There was a serious lack of privacy—the owner and their helper would enter our room multiple times even after we had checked in, and sometimes even while we were out, which felt invasive and unusual. To make things more uncomfortable, their personal belongings were also stored in the room we were staying in. Additionally, they acted as our tour guides, but instead of following the itinerary we provided, they kept pushing their own plans, even trying to convince us to dine at a restaurant of their choice when we had already made our own plans. We also experienced long delays before our tour started, which affected our schedule. Overall, it felt more like staying in someone else’s space than having our own. I hope they improve these issues, especially around respecting guests’ privacy and preferences.

The people there and staff was nice

It's so far to beach and the transportation is cost high then no tv and ref and the wifi only in outside inside room slow wifi and the towel not everyday change .

Really helpful and friendly staff. Room was good size with AC. Location is a bit off, so keep that in mind when you need food late at night. But you can easily get a motorbike taxi. Owner adopted a few cute kitties and a puppy 🥹

The first day when we arrived the window in the bathroom fell as we tried to close it! Didn't break and the guys fixed straight away but we didn't touch it the rest of the week. The water from the shower, that was a bit unpleasant first it's cold what doesn't really bother us, but then it's neither salty nor sweet, it's like a in between the two of them! We didn't love that Apart from that issue, the location is great, close to everything especially to our absolute favorite shipwreck beach bar, but quiet at night since it's 5 min away (by scooter) from the center. We had a scooter for the week and you can rent it at the property. the staff is really friendly and they were super helpfull trough the chat as we had some complications getting into the island due to bad weather but they were texting me the entire time I needed assistance, they also have a shop right downstairs were you can get fresh beer, water, snacks and other small things that come really handy when you don't want to go in to town. Clean room, almost no noise, strong fan/ac, water UNLiMiTED, change of sheets/towels on demand. Laundry 150 pesos per kilo. Staff so nice ! They can bring coffee directly in the room for 30 pesos. Little shop inside the place. The most beautiful beach (Langob beach) of the island is 15min walk.

No wifi and no restaurant around. You need to do 20-25min walk to reach the center. 5min with moto taxi.

The queen-size mattress was extremely hard, and the single bed felt even firmer—almost like a futon. Initially, the staff appeared friendly; however, after a while, I felt that my concerns were not being taken seriously. When I requested something to be placed on the mattress to soften it, they agreed, but then turned to another staff member, speaking in Filipino and laughing, which made me feel ridiculed. Additionally, roosters began crowing loudly at around 3:30 AM—I counted eight from the neighboring area. The overall cleanliness of the property was lacking, as sand was scattered throughout the room. Furthermore, the water pressure was low and there was no hot water available. Finally, the accommodation is located in the middle of the island, making it far from both the beach and the nightlife.

Friendly staff , spacious room and comfy bed. The location is fine. It’s 20 minute walk into the town but we rented a moped so it took 5 minutes.

It was quite noisy at night. The first night there was karaoke going on until about 12am just opposite in the restaurant space owners by Edem. And the property is located next too large numbers of Cockerels who are very noisy all through the night. Not normally an issue but we were getting up early to go diving so was a bit annoying but was fine. Just good to know beforehand
