Had availability and the host was responsive.

It is difficult to know where to begin. Before we could enter, the host had made me send photo ID and an extra deposit before allowing us the entry code; this is not something I have ever had to do before with Booking.com. On entry, we found the property to be in a bad state of repair: mildew on bathroom ceilings, fittings broken, furniture chipped, landing light broken, bedside lamps not working, blinds misding slats, kitchen bin rusty, kitchen tap loose supermarket savers washing-up liquid: in short, it felt like a student flat, yet was the same price as the top quality hotel we had stayed at the night before (Crowne Plaza, Royal Victoria). We had booked the apartment on a whim as we had been to the university open day and wanted to stay an extra night in the city. We were extremely disappointed. It was already evening so we went out to eat and whilst there, decided we could not stay in such a place. We booked a room at the Crowne Plaza and left. We were in contact with the host throughout, who was polite and responsive, but there was little that could be done at this stage. In my opinion, the property was misadvertised; the photographs must havd been from one of the other apartments. The host returned my deposot but refused to refund me. I eventually managed to cancel the booking but incurred an £80+ cancellation fee. A disappointing end to our stay in Sheffield and nit an experience to be repeated.

Great location and everything we needed in the apartment.

The long process for ID checks on getting into the property and the additional security deposit not being returned in full after 1 month stay and over £2k being spent at the property they are now being miserable about £25.

Expensive and not good value for money. The photos did not reflect the actual apartment. Furniture and decor were different to pictures. Uncomfortable living space. The kitchen was poorly equipped. The bed was rock solid bed and had lumpy old pillows. The hosts were nice on the phone but the messaging before, during and after was overkill. Clearly had used AI to write allllllll of the messages. Best thing about it is the location, so perfect for anyone not wanting to spend time inside.

Lovely stay! Very clean. Local shop is open until late.. I would definitely stay there again.. thanks to the staff for being so accommodating!!
