"Bad"

1.0

It was a fair size for 6 people. The washing machine and tumble dryer were handy, especially after a rainy day. Except for the bad smell in the bathroom, it was n good size and clean.

The house smells very moldy, with not enough light going through. My daughter is asthmatic and really struggled. The kitchen cleaning materials were unusable, very dirty. The cups and glasses I had to bleach before it could be used, and we ate out of paper plates. The little deck is nice but so overgrown that we didn't feel comfortable sitting there. The BBQ was just as dirty and wasn't able to use it. The curtains are in need of a clean. Was very, very dusty, stained with mold all over them. Sorry to say but overall we found it very uncomfortable staying there.

"Private, picturesque location. Good facilities but accommodation dark from overgrown plants."

7.0

Location is peaceful, private, and beautiful. The garden is lovely. The picturesque stream is only metres from the accommodation, across a sheep paddock with natives and exotics such as old orchard trees. Trout are visible in the stream which is great for those of us who want to see them, but trout fishing is hindered by steep banks and few landing spots, plus vegetation overhanging, in, or growing along the edges of the stream. in the kitchen we mostly used the hot-plate which heated up very quickly. The cupboards have plenty of cups, glasses, and plates, plus there are so many extras like kitchen scissors, a grater, mixing bowls, an electric frypan, a couple of frypans and pots. The fridge is a good size; i.e., not just a bar fridge. We found ample spare toilet rolls in the laundry. The variety of electrical sockets for plugs from different countries was the best I've ever seen!

More teaspoons; there was only one. No milk or coffee was supplied, but luckily we'd brought our own. The place is dark, especially the bathroom/toilet; the light needs to be on when you're in there. The kitchen and dining area are also dark. They and the lounge would be much lighter if greenery growing in front of windows was cut back, especially the clematis over the verandah's semi-transparent canopy. The place was refreshingly cool in mid-summer. However, in all other seasons I'd be lighting the fire! In addition, the accommodation has a smell of dampness inside. The lounge sofa needs refurbishing or replacing as it's a bit sunken in places.
