Eco Conservation Landak Luxury Tents

De reden dat we voor deze locatie kozen was vanwege de ecologische groene ‘footprints’. Joseph runt deze accommodatie met een geweldige ideologie. Hij draagt met zijn tours bij aan het planten van andere bomen dan de palmolie. En geeft voorlichting over respectvol omgaan met dieren en planten. Wat een fijne, gastvrije ontvangst en goede zorgen van Joseph en zijn vrouw. Wat we ook fantastisch vonden was de locatie, helemaal in de jungle, vlakbij een riviertje. Weg van het drukke en toeristische Bukit Lawang.

We hebben alleen maar positieve punten

Le logement est atypique, perdu dans la jungle c'est tout bonnement incroyable. Possibilités de faire le trek directement avec eux. Merci encore à Josef et sa petite famille et surtout à Putra un garçon formidable et serviable. Je recommande.

En tant qu'urbains on est un peu déstabilisés en arrivant dans cet endroit si reculé où même aucune voiture ne peut accéder (les propriétaires viennent nous récupérer en scooter là où la voiture ne peut plus passer). Mais très vite le côté enchanteur de cette nature luxuriante nous emballe. La sincère amabilité de Josep et de sa famille y ont également aussi beaucoup contribué à nous mettre à l'aise. Nos guides pour le trek Risaldo et Eddy se sont montrés également super avec nous! La maison où nous avons logé était dotée d'un confort rudimentaire mais pourvue de moustiquaires sur les lits, ce qui nous a évité de finir dévorés. Bref si vous êtes en recherche d'un séjour authentique, foncez les yeux fermés ! Nous avons eu du mal ensuite à nous réhabituer aux bruits des voitures la nuit.

S'il fallait trouver quelque chose, je dirais peut-être qu'il manque des fauteuils confortables sur la terrasse ou au bord de la rivière pour profiter du bruit de l'eau

Josef was very friendly and funny, he gave us a lot of free information about Sumatra in general and seems to know everyone. We booked a 2 nights trek with him and were accompanied by Rizaldo, a friend of him that is really knowledgeable, engaged and listening to adapt the experience to your wishes. We highly recommand Rizaldo as he is a wonderful guide !

We wanted to see a tiger in the jungle but haven't found one.

We loved the place which has amazing location and is very well preserved. A peace of heaven. There is a lovely river that runs in front of the place which has perfect temperature to have a bath! Everything is done with much taste and care. Josef, the owner, is so friendly and warm-hearted, you feel you’re at home. He advised us for the rest of our trip in Sumatra because he used to be a guide all over Sumatra and he knows the place where there is no so much tourists. He is very concerned about nature and the ecosystem there and committed to help local farmers. His project is called Ecoconservation, this has true meaning. Besides he organize unforgettable trek in the jungle as he grew up there. Everyone there is so nice and respectful. The food is totally incredible with much choice and quite cheap! You will have a great human experience there very close to nature and the local people ❤️🌱

There is nothing we didn’t like. Beware the one bathroom/toilet is quite rudimentary with no hot water. But it was totally ok for us. The weather is so hot!

The location is beautiful staff was more than friendly and the peace and quiet you find here is almost unmatched

If you are not up to adventure maybe not book the big house because you have to cross a river to get there

Beautiful location, on the edge of the rainforest, on the Landak river. We would watch monkeys from the balcony. Hope you’re lucky enough to do a trek with Josef, incredible knowledge, great respect for nature, taking us on an alternative route into the park avoiding the crowds that can occur, and really passionate about establishing Eco Tourism that has balance for wildlife, and also for the local people making sure the local community feel positive effects of tourism as much as possible. It’s outside of Bukit Lawang, and a brilliant place to really embrace living in nature a for a bit. Some of the best food I’ve eaten in Asia, incredible flavours! Great hospitality. Picked us up from the bus station. Toilet facilities are camping style and expected for staying in a cabin in the jungle. We felt super cosy under our mosquito net listening to the sounds of the forest. Fab swim spot down the river.

I would have liked to give a 5-star review. Joseph and his family are very friendly. It's true that the huts are very rustic and the toilet outside doesn't meet European hygiene standards, but as the previous reviewers wrote, it's in the middle of the jungle and unbeatable for the price.

My three stars are unfortunately due to the fact that all my cash was stolen from my locked bungalow. According to Joseph, this wasn't the first time. I wish I'd known earlier, then I wouldn't have left my valuables in the bungalow. Since the door was locked, it remains a mystery who had a spare key to get in. A shame, an unpleasant end to an otherwise pleasant stay. P.S.: Just be careful of the dogs; don't leave them outside; they chewed my sandals to pieces.

Josef is an amazing host, sharing his knowledge about jungle conservation, palm tree impact, local and touristes co-living. The Landak River is at the back of the garden so you can chill and swim there. The house is a bit far from Bukit Lawang but Josef came to pick me up / drop me off at the bus station by scooter. You can also eat all your meals there (special mention for the most beautiful fruit plate at 25k only). I did one day trek with Josef and learn so many things, it was a real adventure as we wandered out of tracks, even more than another 4 day trek I did in Bukit Lawang.

Comfort is really basic, but for this price, you can't expect more.
