Location and price. Instructions to access were clear and sent to me in a timely fashion. The bed was comfortable. The room heater and bath sink worked. The refrigerator worked after I plugged it in.

The owner forgot the day, so had to service the room after I arrived. 100% understandable. But the place needs a little more care. I could not get hot water in the shower. A previous guest had unplugged the refrigerator, and it had defrosted completely, leaving a pool of water on the floor. The whole floor could do with a thorough cleaning, not just the path inside the door. Finally, I didn’t mind drinking my morning coffee from a bowl, but I think most guests would like a mug. Again, a good value in a good location for me.

You had your own key so you could come and go as you pleased. You were left alone.

We didn't like the extension lead which was for the TV kettle fridge and toaster. There was only a place setting for a single person even though we booked as a couple. There was only one chair and a footstool. You couldn't fill the kettle up due to the small size of the hand basin. Luckily we had taken a jug with us. The bed being pushed up against the wall was difficult to get in and out of it. It could do with new mattresses as there was 2 on the bed, which had seen better days. The shower was very tight to use. It felt like a coffin, I've got long hair and couldn't wash it properly. The towel rail and socket in the bathroom was coming away from the wall. Also the covering of the pipe work to the toilet was damaged. The signal on the TV wasn't great and kept cutting out. The lamp holder was broken. It's little things which could make it better. More sockets in the room, have enough cups etc for 2 people. Make sure that the fittings and fixtures are well maintained. I was disappointed for the money we had paid.
