West End Townhouse

Carol is a lovely host! The property was a good walking distance from everything we needed. The favorite part of our visit was meeting Carol and enjoying a wonderful breakfast each morning. We highly recommend the porridge! If we ever get back to Edinburgh, we will certainly book again!

Excellent and quiet location. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. A nice and clean room with a large bathroom. The breakfast was excellent. I recommend!

The West End location was so clean and quiet with beautiful architecture and history. Our hostess Carole was so gracious and helpful. She made sure we had all our individual needs met including my special dietary restriction. She even packed a sack breakfast for us to go on our early checkout morning. In our short time we felt like we had become friends, even family. The views of the gardens and green space and beyond from our bedroom were gorgeous. The place so quiet and lovely remodeled. We stayed with the lovely Carole in her gorgeous Edinburgh townhouse for 4 nights on our honeymoon. The location of the townhouse is perfect, everything is within easy walking distance and there's a bus stop very close by if you don't feel like walking. Carole was very welcoming and it felt like arriving to stay with a friend, which was lovely. We were made to feel comfortable and that if we'd needed anything Carole would've done her very best to help us. Our room was huge, very clean and gorgeous! What a fantastic view, too! There was lots of storage to use should we have wanted it. The bathroom was large, well equipped, with a modern large shower. There were also his and her sinks and vanities which was fab.

Our room was on the second floor, which meant 4 flights of stairs to go up and down. While this was okay for us it's worth considering if you're less mobile. We were disappointed with the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There was certainly plenty of space for it to have been made available. It meant every time we wanted a cup of tea (quite often for us), one of us had to traverse up and down 4 flights of stairs. Added to which the (gorgeous) main kitchen was often populated with people socialising, and, as a pair of introverts (on our honeymoon) there were occasions we had to go back upstairs to wait for the kitchen to empty before going back down to make a drink as we weren't comfortable doing so with so many people in the kitchen. Unfortunately, we were unable to sample the breakfast at the townhouse as this was only served until 8:45am. Again, while on our honeymoon we were looking forward to some later mornings and would've greatly appreciated breakfast a little later, 10am would've been great. We imagine most people on holiday would like the option for a later start, too!

Like coming home to family. A magnificent house

We had an amazing view of the water of leith walkway from the spacious Deluxe King room. The hotel is in a beautifully restored townhouse close to some of the main streets of Edinburgh. Carole was an excellent, friendly, and informative host, and she made us feel at like we were at home our whole stay. We had plenty of breakfast options every morning and Carole herself would make something extra each day. The location is pretty central (only few minutes walk from one of the ends of Princes St), but still distant enough from the bustle to be perfectly quiet in the evening.

The location was beautiful and close to all facilities and things we wanted to see in Edinburgh, bur far enough away to ve peaceful and relaxing

Nothing to improve on

West End Townhouse is a unique experience. You enjoy the intimacy, warmth and privacy of a B&B on the level of a 5-star hotel. Perfectly situated to explore Edinburgh, looked after by Carole more like a friend than a landlady, elegant and comfortable rooms, stunning views … It was the perfect start for our Scotland trip.
