Baglio San Basilio

Location is amazing. Quiet, but very close to main attractions.

A lot of humidity in the apartment, very strong smell (especially the wardrobe, in was not usable). Only one window (balcony door), so can really vent it out, There wasn’t cleaning service, so no new sheets and towels. There is a washing machine, but no supplies for it.

Attention to details and host flexibility, felt like home

The apartment is in a perfect location, really just a few steps away from Palermo's main sights. Almost every surrounding street has street vendors where you can buy souvenirs and lots of restaurants and bars. It's a great apartment for when you want to enjoy a quiet night but have accessible night life at the same time. Also a bus station from where you can take the airport shuttle service or the AMAT buses is just down the street so that's very convenient too. The apartment itself is very nice, clean and has everything you may need. Me and my partner enjoyed the little balcony the most.

Really the only thing missing was a little drying rack to hang the clothes after washing them but other than that everything what you may need is there.

The narrow stairs up to the 1st floor where the apartment is locataed, very inconvenient for us because we have big luggage.

I booked this flat for my parents and my niece. They liked that there was a coffee machine, good pots and pans and it was quiet at night (windows facing the courtyard) and in a very good location, in the city centre. They had to be moved to a different flat because the first one (studio) was flooded by the heavy rain. The host organised it quickly but didn't come over, just texted to pick up the keys NOW from the cleaning staff. The second flat was much bigger and more comfortable.

The host was 45 minutes late despite telling her in advance the approx time of arrival and being in regular contact with her to inform her when we are going to come. The first flat got flooded but before that happened there was a strong unpleasant smell of dampness. The wardrobe stank and they couldn't use it because of that. The door didn't work properly and there was no kettle, just a coffee machine. The second apartment was nicer and bigger. But still with the smell of dampness and with no kettle which was an issue because they were travelling with my little niece who doesn't drink coffee so they had to boil the water in a pot. The pan provided was rusty.

Super location and the owners are great humans.

The appartment was the best choice right in the old city of Palermo, walking distance to all the important objectives and also to the train and bus stations. The rooms are large, with high ceilings, beautiful decorated and each room with AC. The kitchen has everything you need for fast cooking, Lidl is 10 minutes away (on the way to/from the station), very practical. The area is picturesque, safe and quiet at night. Cristina, the superhost, offered to help in any matter, but we really didn’t need assistance, as everything went smoothly. (Thank you for the good coffee!) We highly recommend Baglio San Basilio and would return anytime!
