The Braes

A spacious quaint older property that is feeling a little tired inside. Unfortunately on our month long trip we have stayed in a number of older houses that have had their interiors updated in every way. Therefore The Braes suffers by comparison. The entry foyer is not clean which does not give a good first impression. On a very positive note the owner was very prompt and helpful when we encountered an issue with an appliance, she could not have been more obliging.

It's a way out of the main part of Stornaway so you need a car. The road is very busy especially in peak hour.

La casa è super fornita di tutto: piatti, bicchieri, asciugamani, tovaglia, detersivi. Il giardino è molto carino e le camere sono spaziose.

Fantastic stay with a group of friends attending a wedding. House was comfortable and clean with everything needed provided. Perfect location 5/ 10-minute drive to the town. Pictures dont do the size justice. Bedrooms were quite big with plenty of storage space. Small sitting area round the back aswell which was great. Plenty of parking space and a nice view.

Upstairs toilet was a bit loud when flushed which meant we couldn't flush it during the night but didn't really affect the stay at all so not a big issue.

The upstairs toilet is dangerous and very scary. Needs urgent attention.

Upstairs toilet “hummed” for about 3m after every flush .. not ideal at 2am

Otroligt fint och prisvärd boende, härliga täcken sängar. Har man fönstret öppet på natten så vaknar man tidigt av trafiken. Men då får man ta en morgon promenad i den vackra omgivningen. Rent, bra instruktioner, vi uppskattade att det fanns tvättmaskin med torktumlare.

The Braes exceeded our expectations. House was extremely comfortable, well-equipped and good location.

We cannot think of anything which we would recommend as an improvement.
