Mbah Mek Trawangan Homestay

Has everything you need. Staff are lovely. Perfect if you like to travel on a budget and are wanting somewhere quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the Main Street.

Nothing really, I guess it’s cheap for the island but not worth it at all.

The whole place is a dump, considering it’s 400K a night I’d expect a working toilet. Toilet didn’t flush we asked about it and turns out it has a 5 step action plan to get it to work slightly. I might as well have peed down my leg for all the use the shower was, barely was able to get out of the shower head the pressure was so bad. We also asked how do you turn the light off, we were told it was broken so stayed on and flickered constantly. No door into the bathroom, instead had a walk in freezer curtain, with plastic strips. Bed sheet had a big purple stain on it too. It’s also right next to the mosque so you get woken up early and then shortly after by the resident cockerels. Neither of us felt clean until we left the place, I know it’s cheap for the island but this is the worst place we stayed in on our trip not worth the money at all.

The owner is very helpful and welcoming ! Place is great, aircon works well. Very good stay here!

Far enough away from the main strip so you didn’t hear the parties but close enough to get everywhere easily. The owners very lovely and air con was nice and cold!

It is a lovely little homestay with only a few rooms. It is more or less in the centre of the island and you can either walk everywhere or go by bike. The owners were very friendly, always open for a little chat and also sometimes offered me coffee in the morning :). My room was really clean and I could easily extend my stay twice. The owner even gave me a discount without me asking for it. You don't pay for the homestay on booking but cash at the homestay :).

Had to pay twice. Online and then owner demanded payment when I left. No blankets. Aircon stop working. No lights in bathroom owner was very rude
