Amphai Guest house

I liked nothing about the place….room was run-down and the size of a prison cell….on the second floor immediately next to the external stairs where people were coming and going all night…heat pump not working…bathroom was disgusting…sink bath water drained straight onto the bathroom floor…no hot water….shower-head small / unsatisfactory…room nor serviced during my 3 night stay, despite toilet paper piling up on the bathroom basket Not allowed to flush it away)…nil basic amenities (no fridge, bedside lighting, glassware or cups, nothing)….power-board next the door in need of replacement)….noisy….very poor value for money (moved to alternative accommodation which met every expectation (clean, quiet, well-equipped, spacious, private outside terrace at rear etc…etc…) for an additional $10 NZD a night - no contest….I would recommend fellow travellers avoid this property at all cost….it impacted negatively on the quality of my experience in this stunning, picturesque part of the country

Great location, comfy bed and spacious room.

The bathroom facilities were a bit dirty, and the light in the room was poor and blue coloured and didn’t light up the room very well at all.

Beds are confortable and clean which is the most important to me.

Bathroom old

We stayed in a double room in the green building one night before a trekk and we are happy with it. It is a simple but well equipped room and bathroom. Hot water shower, AC that works well, clean sheets and a place to sit both in the room and outside. Bathroom is Asian standard. Toilettries included, big plus. Location is good, close to the busy parts of the town, but still in a calmer area.

The staff speaks very poor English, if none at all. Be prepared to use translate if needed. At check in we just got a key, at check out we just payed. So if you need help with the local surroundings, go to a tour office or something. Not a big deal for us however. Some construction site beside the accommodation that made some noise after sunset but not in the morning.
