Kirbister Mill Farm Cottage

Spacious, modern and clean. Very conveniently located between Stromness and Kirkwall, on the main island of the Orkneys. A working sheep farm, and the sheep would walk around the back and eat the grass outside the kitchen window. 😀👍

It did rain every day, but hardly the fault of Emma and Sean.

Loved the views from the windows.

Would have liked some chairs for outside.

An out of town location that gave us easy access in all directions. Comfy beds, big kitchen space for self catering and a large comfortable lounge room.

We liked everything.

Amazing house, between farm and old stone mill, otherwise surrounded by pasture. Perfect heating for all rooms is available - good for Orkneys weather. The apartment is between Stromness and Kirkwall (closer to latter). Beautiful sandy beach can be reached by 30 minutes walk along a path just across the road. Pet/dog friendly!

Only 1 table in living room so it was far away for everyone when having like tea/ or drink etc. Could do with a wee nest if tables. & Couple of side lamps instead of just the big light. Would be handy in the kids room to have black out curtains. Wee bench or table & chairs would be lovely outside.

It was very clean and spacious, had everything we needed, including milk, tea bag’s, coffee and some lovely biscuits. the location was excellent within easy reach of Kirkwall and lively walks down to Waulkmill Beach.

Great location (stunning beach 10 minute walk away), everywhere within easy reach. A spacious cottage and garden, warm and spotlessly clean. The beds were super comfy and lovely bedding. Nice decor. Lovely little touches like milk in the fridge, kitchen roll, cling film, salt and pepper etc. Really well equipped, everything we needed and more. We loved the resident sheep out the kitchen window and all the lambs in the fields around the cottage. Emma was a terrific host, she has thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Fantastic value for money too!

The garden isn’t completely secure for dogs but that was a tiny thing for us. I know some folks dogs are escape artists!

The location is great. Lovely walk down to the bay and within easy reach of everything we wanted to see
