Spacious and had everything we needed

Spacious, well equipped kitchen. Great location., Wi-Fi strong, Washing machine , dishwasher broken at time of visit . Garden enclosed so safe for dogs and children. Perfect location. Excellent for our visit . Local walk to beach was beautiful

Bathroom was functional rather than luxurious in comparison to other rooms. Local walk to beach was lovely.

It‘s huge and perfect for families (not for us being a couple with a dog though). The location is rather quiet and a good start for touring the Orkneys by car. Beds are comfortable.

I understand that the building is adjacent to a working farm, that’s amazing, and the historic mill next door is interesting too, but it's still unacceptable how many woodlice/sow bugs there are indoors and especially near the bathroom. We've been sweeping daily to keep them at bay. It's also absolutely fine to charge extra for a stay with a dog, but why our well-behaved dog was effectively only allowed in the hallway and kitchen is beyond me. It's all well and good that upholstered furniture is taboo for dogs, but what's the problem with carpeted rooms? There's not much you can do on foot from the house furthermore.

Bright, comfortable cottage. Well furnished with comfortable beds, cosy sitting room and enclosed garden for the dogs.

Not enough cutlery - one knife, fork and spoon each. The cottage allows dogs but says they can’t go in carpeted rooms. This means shutting the dogs in the kitchen all evening if we were in the living room. And they charged an extra cleaning fee for the dogs! What extra mess did they think the dogs would make if they weren’t allowed in most of the house? If owners don’t want dogs in their property they shouldn’t say they are dog friendly.

It’s an old building so woodlice in the bathroom. Whole place a bit damp.

Excellent central location. Being on a farm. Easy walk to beautiful bay.

Heating was not on when arrived, so was cold for a while (takes a while to workout how to use the blow heaters)

Fantastic location, if you have a car - 10 mins to Kirkwall 15 to Stromness then all big attractions within 25. The cottage is recently renovated and has everything you need. Hosts left lovely biscuits for us but we had no contact with them whilst there.

No central heating therefore can be a bit cold. There are individual heaters within the living spaces, my advice would be to set the timers to come on before you return.
