Yosemite Gatekeeper's Lodge

The space was good for 4 adults and a toddler. The kitchen was well equipped. The outside space was nice. We could use the pool at Cedar Lodge.

The outside lights didn't work which made arriving in the dark very difficult....they were fixed very quickly when reported the next day. The hot tub water appeared to be murky. There was quite a lot of road noise especially early in the morning. I'm not sure where the name Gatekeepers Lodge comes from...it was called the Yellow House!

The keys were at a lodge very easy to get to. We appreciated that we asked for early arrival and got to arrive early, so we could get into Yosemite without food in the car. The place was nice and quiet and fun with a ladder going up to the second floor bedroom (also outside stairs could get there as well). Lots of towels and very well equipped to cook.

The place is cozy and we had a good 2 nights there. It was a nice stay, but pricey for what you get. But it was clean, comfortable and had all the necessary to cook a basic meal. Good beds. Good fridge. They also had a coffee machine and regular coffee and also decaf.

The upper room is for people in good shape, able to climb a stiff ladder, so my parents stayed downstairs. Having to pick up the keys from the hotel that's a 10-minute drive away is not ideal. They give you magnetic keys that stopped working and it's a problem having to go back to the hotel to get them re-activated. This happened on the second night, after a long day visiting the park it was frustrating to have to jump in the car again to go back to the hotel, wasting more than 30 minutes to be able to just get into the house. Also, the bathroom and shower could have been better.

I liked everything about the facility. May be the price to the high end but it was worth it

Great location and nice view.

A primary reason for renting this property was that it had a kitchen. Unfortunately, the stove in the kitchen did not have any power and could not be used. This was a huge inconvenience for us and disrupted our dinner plans. Also, the A/C in the loft bedroom was very noisy.

House was a great location for a family visiting Yosemite, located at the fork of the Merced and S Merced River, and trail head of Hite Cove. The ladder to the second floor worked well for our teens but I would not be comfortable having small kids up there. But there is a panel that blocks the opening and you can walk outside and use connecting stairs. Comfortable beds and furniture. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pans, but only has salt, pepper, sugar, creamer, tea, and coffee. Nice deck with seating and grill.

There is a hot tub that was powered but the water was slightly green and sides had algae.
