The property is very well located, super convenient if you want to be within walking distance from major spots in Funchal. There’s a supermarket 2 min away. The bed , duvet and pillows are comfortable, the kitchenette has everything you need for a light meal (pans, cutlery, dishes, condiments). The toilet is comfortable and functional. The room was clean. Although we did have to wait a few minutes for the key after the indicated check-in time, it was easy and convenient. There are no blinds, but you can close the exterior shutters and the curtains to get close to total darkness in the room. Overall, we had a good time and would return.

The things I will list did not compromise our stay, but I think might be useful for potential guests and for management to evaluate what needs improving. The bed linen and towels need a bit of love, they are no longer white, but dingy. There are signs warning guests to take care of the linen and not to “clean shoes, make up or hair dye”. I understand where the owners are coming from but, at the same time, I think it’s part of the job to maintain the linen… it felt a bit uncomfortable to have these warnings even in the lift. The hot water is just enough for two showers in a row (without hair washing). If I wanted to wash my hair in the evening, then my partner would have to shower in the morning or at least a few hours later. There’s a background noise in the room, not sure if it’s the fridge or the water heater or something else, but at night is quite noticeable if you’re a light sleeper. It troubled me a bit , I had to put my earplugs on to go back to sleep after I woke up in the middle of the night for a different reason.

Location excellent.Supermarket 1 minute away.Spacious, light filled apartment, well equipped with hob,microwave,utensils,cutlery and a washer/dryer. Comfortable L-shaped sofa bed, TV with Netflix access, large table with comfortable dining chairs.Nice little sun-spot balcony with rattan table & chairs . Comfortable bed, good storage and bedside lighting. Buses, restaurants ,promenade all easily accessible. Good security with code access and safe box for keys. Lift access as well as stairs .

When I opened the door a stale smell hit me, a mixture of cigarettes and rotten eggs. Apparently in Sé plumbing can be problematic and the solution offered was to run the pipes(water). Perhaps the apartment had been unoccupied for a time as it was early in March. I opened all the windows , ran the water and covered the shower drains ( with plastic bags filled with water as suggested by AI). The host offered me his apologies and a refund of the balance of my days booked if I wished to move.On balance I decided to stay and keep the bathroom doors closed. On a minor point, despite the apartment being clean, maintenance attention could be given to things like cupboard hinges needing to have screws tightened as hinges were coming away, replacing lightbulbs in standard lamp, removing ink stains from extensive pen scribbles on the bedroom chair, tightening holder for shower head replacing sun bleached curtains - just regular upkeep.

L’emplacement en plein centre ville et au calme. Le parking privé.

Du vis à vis dans l’appartement. Il manque un voilage léger aux fenêtres.

I loved my studio, I enjoyed every second of my stay and didn’t want to leave. It’s super quiet even though it’s in the middle of the city.

Nowhere to leave luggage, just in the stairway
